Default Have you noticed? [scratches]

Have you all ever noticed how easily the xb's get scratches on them. I was just lookin at my car today and saw all kinds of scratches on my door where people had opened their doors and hit mine. Their tiny white scratches but their everywhere. I tried using my scratch remover but it would take them off. I then noticed on the other parts of my car where no car door could have scratched and every now and there i see a small scratch, not really visible but it's there. Does anyone know of any products on the market that are really good for taking care of this kind of thing? Or is my best bet to take it to a body shop and have them take the scratches out? Anyone know about how much this would cost??

Well, here is another bomb on ya. Check your side skirts where you exit the car. You will see some more scrathes from your shoes.

what color hide scratches the best? I'd imagine darker ones show them more easily.

I did a search as I was curious and went 18 pages in without nothing talking 'bout this problem.

I got a black xb and I see the swirls on the freaking hood.

Got a link to this topic Eienstein?

I agree with everyone here too. Had a few cars in my time, and the xB's paint has to be the weakest. They are nice colors, but the cheapest clearcoat I've ever had. All you have to do is look at them wrong and they scratch.

As for your black xB and the swirls, I think the best thing to do for your car and all the xB's is to wax......wax.......... and wax. As for the swirls, you might try doing evrything in a straight- line motion. That is, wash...dry....and wax in a straight line. Never in circles. Try that, it worked great on a black car that I had. I never had to use swirl remover when I did it like that.

I don't have an unusual amount of scratches on mine for a car that is 1 year old. I have two tiny rock chips on the hood (completely understandable in AZ) but that's about it.

Best paint finish I've seen on a sub $15k car. The problem I think, is alot of people coming from $20,25,30,000 cars expecting a Mercedes paint job on a $13,000 car.

IMO the fact that this econobox can satisfy people used to more expensive rides AT ALL, is pretty damn impressive.

You know Rion, I think you are right - I came from a 4-Runner myself and never had a problem with paint or scratches etc.............I don't notice much on my PW but the chipping on the front like Danger said is very noticable.
