I'm new to scionlife, (and Scion), so please be nice lol

i've got 2011 tC, does anyone know if 18x9 +38 with 245/40r18 tires will have issues with clearing without rubbing?

The car will be lowered with TRD springs.

Thanks,

I have Work Emotion CR Kai 18 x 8.5" +38 wheels with 245/40 R18's on. The 18 x 9" wheels would've cleared it as well, and will probably look more flush. I test fitted a friend's Volk RE30 18 x 9" wheels with a +35 offset wrapped with a 265/40 R18 tire, and there was no rub at lock while driving, or at least none that I could tell. I have the TRD Springs, as well. Hope that helps.

Yes, fitment will be perfect.

I'm at 18x9.5 +45 with a 3mm spacer, so basically +42. Dead nuts flush.

I am looking at possibly doing S-Techs with either a 18x9 +30 w/245-40s or 18x9.5 +38 w/255-35s. Trying to figure out if the 255/35 will screw up the computer because of the smaller diameter.

^What do you mean by screw up the computer? Only thing I can think of is the mileage on the odometer would be the only thing affected if the overall diameter isn't matched.

Don't know if the ECU will get error codes because the RPMs or speedo numbers aren't corresponding with the parameters it has been programmed with.

the computer wont know a difference, for all it knows, its still going the right speed.

I guess I will know for sure if I do decide on the different diameter tires.
