does anyone know when the 2006's will be coming out?'i want to see if there were any significant changes made.i was gonna purchase an 05 soon but if the 2006 is coming out soon i will wait and pick up the 06.

There won't be any significant changes to any Scion model. Each is designed to be produced for a few years, then phased out. That's part of the business model.

The xB is supposed to be replaced by a model called "t2B" which will be unveiled at the NY auto show on the 24th of this month, I beleive.

I suspect it will be released as an '06 at the end of this year.

If you want an xB, go for it, but if I were you I would at least wait and see what the t2B looks like. All we know is that it is a completely new vehicle, so it is bound to have some major advances over the 4+ year old bB/xB. My prediciton is greater safety, more power and a bit more refinement. That would be worth waiting for if you can.

I'd bet, if the t2B replaces the xB it won't be until at least the 07 model year, meaning mid 06 at the earliest for a release. It's no more than a concept at this point. No leak has happened to let us in on if they've started tooling for a production run. Judging from the ccX concept, I'd bet they're going to wait for a reaction before they spend any $$ tooling a concept up.

soon my friend, soon....not a lot of changes though, mainly audio upgrades, iPod connection is the big thing though. But the 06's will be here shortly.

The t2B seems to be a cat of a different stripe, not as cute or friendly as the xB. If built, it will be an addition to the line.

Re: the 06 xB's, I would guess that side air bags will be an option. Possibly another dome light (it's dark in here!) and an armrest as standard equipment.

Other than that, why mess with a winner.

every once in awhile Toyota will freshen up a new model when the model year changes. things like taillights or grill surrounds, or wheel covers, consoles etc. For example, when the 05 camry came out, it had a 5 speed manual trans instead of 4 speed auto. it got a different cloth interior, the grill had a chrome surround, the console was changed to more like a soloras it got new wheel covers, a few changes in color, different taillights, steering wheel audio controls, etc.

a freshening is a mid model alteration for small changes without a complete redesign of the vehicle.

I heard in addition to Salsa red and a darker gray, thay are going to add Spectra blue to the xb's, it is the same as the XA spectra blue. I also heard there would be way more options available in 06 and the mirrors will look like the RS 2.0 xb's

IF red it coming to the next year xB I say, too, it's long overdue. yay for livlier colors.

There is little reason to hope for lower or even -stable- gasoline prices in the next few years. Big, wide tires and heaver cars and larger engines are contra-indicated for an entry-level car for young people. It is likely that -fuel economy- will more and more dictate auto design.

IF Scions offered the option of a 1.2 or 1.3L engine today, I'd have gotten that because I don't need all this uh, raw power (grin) in a flatland state. Fuel economy is more like a desire for myself than any actually need. I don't like CO2 and this greenhouse gas is the inevitable result of burning hydrocarbons.
