Anyone have a stock air box they don't want?? I need a top half of the box, the part where the MAF mounts. Email or PM me if you are interested in selling it.

Why??? After looking at the Injen and Weapon R intake tubes and doing some thinking, I have an idea that could be a breakthrough for Scion intake systems. I need the top half to check it out and so some experimenting.

I just happen to have mine sitting next to me. I think you could have it for free, but You would need to pick it up.

Let me know if you are interested.

Thanks, but I don't plan to be in your neighborhood in the near future, haven't been that far south in over 10 years!! I live north of San Francisco. Would you consider droping it in a box and shipping it? I'll pay the freight and a little extra for your time/effort.... unless someone has one within 100 mi of me or so.

I have mine sitting in the garage. I live in San Francisco, Sunset area. I can leave it in an ice cream shop (Marco Polo) if you can pick it up. It's at 1447 Taraval Street. San Francisco, CA 94116. Let me know.

i'd give you mine, but thats the piece that i'm using... the bottom half is all yours if you want. haha.... i just pulled it off for the ghetto-style open air box mod. i dont need no stinkin' intake... all the sound, for zero the dollar... i dont gain the 1.2 hp, but i wont see it either.

I need a top half to cut up, there will be just the inside intake tube left when I'm done.

Here's a little info on what I have in mind. All the intake tubes I have seen use 2.25" tubing at the MAF sensor, 2.5" dia. triggers the "check engine" light. I measured the stock intake tube at the MAF, it is just a hair under 2.5" dia. Sooooo, why does the "check engine" light get triggered? I have some ideas that need checked out, if I'm correct we will be able to increase the dia. of our intakes at the MAF (the main restriction in our intakes) and increase air flow considerably.

Thanks but I need one to cut up and experiment with.

I was at Weapon R a couple weeks ago so Leo could use my Xa to prototype an intake. It took a lot longer than we thought it would. That's when I spent a lot of time looking at the stock system and aftermarket systems and formulated some better solutions, they just need to be proven.

Not much progress, been killer busy at work but I will start fabrication of a new intake this weekend. Should not take long to test my theory and see if more air flow can be achieved without triggering the Check Engine light.

I'll keep you posted.
