Who else makes them? I've seen the ones from TWM for the 2011, and I know Doc I makes some for the earlier tC models, but are there minimal options right now for the 2011 tC?

Trying to find a set to go with my TRD SS, no sense to do the work twice, but things seem out of stock or not getting responses from emails from any company.

Just wondering what other companies have made these for any cars, figure I might as well start emailing around to see who else may make some bushings for us.

I know for a fact that Torque Solution makes Shifter Cable Bushings for the tC2...

Shift cable bushings seem to be the one thing that carried over from the 1st gen tC. When I went and talked to NST, they said when they went to develop them for the tC2, they found out they were the same size.

So any company that makes them for the tC1 should be able to help you.

You will like the trd ss. I didn't have the bushings but I could of gave you my trd ss. You want my engine cover? I still have it laying around, and not using it.

You still have The engine cover? Is that the Toyota Camry one? I'm looking for one.

Hey HEY, hold up there killer! lol

Thanks for the offer Lamont, but I'm tapped out for the month on my car purchases. If I'm able to sell my guitar pedal I might hit you back on any parts you've got left over, but don't hold them for me.

Back on topic though, how much did you enjoy your TRD SS? I've read up on them and strongly hope it (along with the cable bushings) get rid of the sloppy-feeling the stock setup has.

Yea I still have it. It is the 2011 camry engine cover.

I left the trd ss, and the trd high flow filter on the car. I still have the stock paper filter laying around. Not sure what I want to do with that.

The trd ss, I don't have. One of the mods moved my thread about me selling my engine cover to the for sale section instead of leaving in this forum. Bump.. but I have it laying it around and I will post pics later. I am @ work from 3p.m. to 11p.m and not @ home.

If I get the TRD Quickshifter, will I still need the bushings? Or does the Quickshifter replaces the bushings altogether? Sorry for the dumb question...

Scratch

Not dumb, the TRD does not replace any bushings at all, it only relocates the cables in the engine bay. You can go replace the bushings as well, I only went with the cable bushings, but you can also get ones to replace the bushings on the shifter.

There are different materials on the bushings from different makers, I went with Delrin ones from Torque Solutions, but you can find others.

Cool.... Thank you!!! I'm going with the Quickshifter and cable bushings. I do like the stock shifter height tho. I know weird....

Quick question, anyone know if the bushings for a Mitsubishi Eclipse are the same size as the ones for the 2011 tC??

Not sure about the Eclipse bushings, but I did have a question about the TRD SS you're ordering. Is that the same red piece that Scion offers when you order the car new? I've been thinking about getting it as well since it offers a similar throw reduction (Scion.com advertises 25-30%) as the "other" brands (30%) and almost half the cost if you get it on a new car. I just haven't read much as far as reviews go with that SS on the tC2.

Did the bushings work? I just got mine from the same place you did the packaging does say MITSU ECLIPSE 1G/2G. Hopefully it works. Thanks...

I was told that they should work, but I won't know for a day or two, planning to do some installs this weekend.

OK Cool... that's when I'm doing mine too.

Corey from Obnoxious Performance said that's the part # that came up when he put in 2011 Scion tC on the computer?!?!

Same response I got, and I'm going with that until I attempt the install. I mostly asked as I've seen other companies say "Parts can not be returned if install was performed" but Obnoxious Performance doesn't run that way for this part... due to the part # showing up that way.

I'll post up on here after I do the install, I'm hoping to have it done early Saturday morning, but that depends on how nice Jack is to me on Friday night.

Bushings looked like they worked fine, no issues with fittment at all. Only one thing though...

U BRACKET CAN ROT IN HELL

ok there, that's better.

Throw redux is about the same with the TRD and the TWM options. 1stOne is the only person I know of who has actually used both and he said TWM's full shifter replacement feels better than the TRD but that the TRD is a lot cheaper and easier to install.

Is the U bracket a pain to slide in? I'm doing mine tomorrow morning. What tool did you use?

Scratch

Both sliding in and out. You will want a thick/long bladed flathead screwdriver to try to pry it loose, pliers may help as well. Sad thing is, if you get mad at it, you have to remember you need to re-use it, so try not to bend it out of shape.

Getting it back in is not as bad, but I used a small hammer I have, it has a hard rubber end and an end like the material screwdriver handles are made of. A Brass hammer would work great as well, keeps you from smacking the U Bracket to much and bending it out of shape.

Keep in mind, this was ONLY for the TRD Short Shifter. If you are only replacing the cable bushings, you won't have to do any of the hard work. Bushings alone take 5-10 min.

Installed the cable bushings on Sunday. Eveything fits, so yea it uses the same bushings on Mitsubishi Eclips 1G/2G. Very easy to install.
