Last fill up was 32.89 mpg mostly city
before that was 31.86 which was 90% city

must be nice, im averaging 29mpg and if i leave my box outside for a day it looks like someone dumped dust on it.

I got a ways to go before its annual wash :) I like it the way it is... No plans to lower it. I am considering some alloy wheels... but thats about it..

Congrats on the ordered xB. I like all the colors... I chose the TCM so I would not have to clean it often... really hides the dirt well... but the darker colors really show the depth in the paint...

Thanks. It was actually a toss up for me between BOP and TCM. But I do like a dark color vehicle when it's clean.

With the cavalier as a beater car, I won't have the drive the box in bad weather, so it gets to be tucked away in the garage instead of getting stormed on.

Lots of altitude up there... knocks the power down quite a bit...
I used to live in Albq... up in Rio Rancho... Hwy 528 going up from Corrales used to be a two lane twisty road... It was real steep and with the curves, was very hard to drive up fast...
Especially with the crap cars I had back then.. This was back in the late 60's early 70's when I used to live there and went to HS. Had a lot of fun driving like a moron in the boonies...
The runs up to the Sandia Mountains were lots of fun... but they widened those roads now too.... Took all the fun away.
I also remember the gasoline wars back then.. Gas was 16 cents a gallon back then.... thats right.... $0.16 a gal...
Oh well.... the good ole days...

My TCM w/AutoTranny xB runs great in ABQ and even climbs the long inclines at 80 mph over the Great Divide on the way to Farmington/Durango 4 corners area. I set my cruise control to 80 and let it down shift to 3rd when needed.

I must admit that I was worried about the power of an AT xB in 5000 to 7000 ft. altitude... but after I got my xB in June 2004 I found that it was not a problem for me.

I went to college in Denver, '69-73, then NM 1973 to present. I look back at the same good old days of driving around the Rocky Mountains and having lots of fun. I remember 25 cent a gallon gas. Things have changed, but New Mexico is still a great place of live (or visit).

Not bad for looks.. mine is black cherry and let me tell you.. it attracts and shows dust like mad. I can't go a week without at least a rinse. The back end is especially bad in the rain up here in washington.... the wet roads kick up dirt onto the back like you wouldn't believe!

wow i wish my car could stay clean for just a week. another thing is how bad the air and roads are around you.

that is clean for 1500 miles. you drive my BCP in the rain for 2 mins and the next day it looks like the bottom half of the car was in a dust storm.

Yep, I just bought a BCP a week ago and I've washed it twice already... we have Jacaranda trees on our street, and they're dropping this sugary mist constantly right now. Makes the car sticky and dirt sticks to it like crazy. :( Doesn't hurt the paint; it rinses right off. Can't wait 'til Spring is over. Oh well; still love the color, though.
