are you looking for components or coaxials? I got some Alpine SPS-170A they are coaxials with a positional tweeter in the middle i got them for 65.00 a pair from eBay they work great they are 6.5inch. i dunno what sizes are in the tC? 6.5s all around?

i'm trying to decide on 6.5 infinity componets up front and 6.5 2-ways in the back,
or
same thing, but with MB Quart...but i dont know the difference between the different kinds of MB's :|

If you can find Diamond Audio Speakers in your area I would recommended doing the HEX S600s components in the front 61/2. For the rears do there D661I they are a coaxial speaker that it is the best you can get other then a component. I work at Magnolia Audio Video in Tacoma in Car audio and that is are best speaker. I am going to put that same setup in my TC with a channel amp from Diamond as well. You get the best sound out of that. They are kind spendy.

If those are to expensive they the D661 Components and the D661I are not expensive at all just the HEX series is the expensive one.

I have JL VR components and i love them!!! They have good mid/midbass response and the highs aren't too bright....rather well balanced.......no matter what comp. set you get up front be sure to amp them!!!!....MB Quart I've had before and i thought they were a little too harsh.....with the right EQ'ing they would sound excellent.....other good brands to look into are Boston Acoustics, Focal, Infinity(ok), CDT,.... I heard some memphis components that sounded beautiful the other day......don't remember which ones they were though......they surprised me!!!

CDT Audio EF-61 6.5" components, you can buy them from a guy named djdilliodon over AIM who runs island sunds. He can get you them for $175 shipped which is an insane deal. (I bought mine from him, great guy)

To harsh? were they componets? If so, why didnt you just adjust the crossovers?

MBQ crossovers are preset.....all you can do is attenuate the tweeter.......if i would have had an EQ they would have sounded better...that all I'm saying....

Go wih the Alpine Type-S 6.5"/1" Compenent set, the sound quality is great and you don't need to amp them. I have them in the from of my car and they sound AWSOME!

MB Quarts, Infinitys, or JL's. Agreed on the non amped components don't do it

You don't need to amp components all the time. The Alpine Type-S compenents do not require alot of power. It also depends on the headunit you are running. My headunit has a built in crossover for Front, Rear & Sub and it also have a built in EQ. With the power from my headunit and the tunning ability from the headunit the speakers sound awsome ... Also amping components do not always help them ... You have to make sure you can tune the components ... With out a good EQ an amp will do nothing!
Remember this kid only wants to spend about $200. The Alpine Type-S components will get the job done for just about $200 and he will get amazing sound quality with out having to amp them!

..........my only point is that an amp on ANY compopnents will make them sound better........mainly because the power to the speakers will be cleaner and more consistent than power from a HU......
