I noticed that my AEM CIA air filter is right next to the driver side fog light hole. I was wondering if I could take the black plastic cover off to get more air flow to the filter?
Would this damage anything when it rains?
And is there a special way to take it off or does it just pop off?
Thanks!
lots of pressure from behind and it some how pops off
and the looks behind the cover is butt ulgy!!! i try and i didn't like the looks of it

It just pops off. Use a flathead screw driver and a piece of cloth (to cover the screwdriver) jab it on one side and pop it off.
Thing is, it's not a huge hole for air ventilation since there are plastic brackets in the way. Without the cover, the car looks pretty ghetto imo.
Besides, the air isn't going to be colder to the point where it will actually provide noticible gains. It's just not necessary :P

If you take off the front grill and look down on the right side, there is a black panel you can take off that may help with airflow. It's fastened by 2 pegs...
