I want to add fog lights to my 2011 tC. I searched on eBay and found 2 options.

There is an aftermarket set that comes with a switch, relay and wiring harness.

Then there is the Scion OEM fog lights that are plug and play. I did see a fog light plug in the lower part of the bumper.

I would like to know if the OEM ones are plug and play or they also come with the relay, harness and switch.

Has anyone installed the aftermarket ones and if so, was it easy to do?

I believe there is already a thread for this.

But to answer your question quickly, yes the OEM one is 100% plug and play, there is no need for the additional harness that comes with the other kit as the tC2 is already wired for fog lights. The OEM kit will include an instruction manual that tells you where the existing wires are located.

 

Yeah, I read the thread on the fog lights.

If I get the OEM ones, do they come on with the head light switch or will it come with a separate switch that I need to wire.

The thread I was reading had images of a fog light setup that had a switch and instructions on how to get them to turn with the head light switch. Was that thread for OEM or Aftermarked?
