what is the widest 19" rim you can put on a TC without rubbing or minimal rubbing. the reason i am asking is beacause my car is in the shop for a wide body kit and i want to get rims to sit flush with the wide fenders..thanks

how wide will the body kit put you? I know that you can fit 17X8.5 rims on the stock car. the ride with 245s is awsome. I guess this would be a matter to resolve when you know how wide the body kit will put you.

It's not so much how wide the rim can be, but how low of an offset can YOU use with the wide body. Might wanna check into the 5Axis tC. I belieive the car used 19x10's on the back. But once again it is more of a factor of offset now.

There's a difference between fitting a wheel on your car and getting one that fits properly. Offset is about the most important thing you must consider if going to a wide-body kit or even just putting on wider wheels.
Offset is the distance from the Centerline of the wheel to the wheel bolt up face (the part of the wheel that contacts the car's hub when you attach the wheel).

Check out this page and just do a yahoo search on wheel offset and read up on it before you order some wheels that won't fit correctly.

I fitted Fondmetal 17x7 +30 on the wifes car. Those were a one piece wheel. Nice and flush with the fender. But if you go two or three piece wheel, those fitments could be different. try a 8.5 or 9 inch wide wheel to get a lip and stretch the tire a bit to clear the fender.

I would imagine with a wide body kit you could fit probably 10"-12" wide wheels on the back and about 9"-10" in the front. I would go with 9" in front and 10"-Up in the rear.

this has been talked about before... People have run 9"s up front and I have 19" x 9.5" in the rear with slight rubbing lowered 2.5". Stock height shouldnt be a problem at all... do a search.

8.5 in the front 9.5 in the rear, a 9 is possible on the front, but it has mad rubbing, so id stick with 8.5 being the largest

Do you know this for fact or firsthand? What size tyre on an 8.5 and what offset and radius for the wheel.

Thank you in advance for your quick reply.

on the front a 19"x8.5" +35 offset with a 225/35/19 tire clears perfect with no rubbing with a 2" drop. I have this on the front of my car so I can verify it works fine. And a 9.5" wide +40offset works on the rear, although depending on the tire size and how much you are lowered there may be some rubbing...

I am about to get some 18x8.5" on my scion what offset would work for me

and tire
225/40r18 or 235/35r18??(i think)

I like the 40 series for more meat on the rim for a better ride

so what offset guys??

35??? or what

I'm looking to get some wheels in that same size, I found some in a 40mm offset, but I'm not sure if they will rub, I was told the stock wheels are 40mm offset already, so my guess is the wheel will have a nice lip.

I have 19x8's for a 40 offset and 35 tires and get just a little rub on the fender... so 18's with 45's should be ok... Don't go wider than 8 though.... ugh.

Will 18x9.5 +20 offset w/stretched tires fit front & back?

tinybigrig
09-16-2005, 07:37 PM
YES I DO KNOW IT WILL FIT, THIS IS WHAT I DO FOR A LIVING. sorry about the caps our comps at work require caps in invoiving and stuff, its a bad habbit. both 18s and 19s can run 8.5 up front and a 9.5 in the rear tire sizing is as follows 225 40 18F 255 35 18R 19 in is 235 35 19 265 30 19 in the rear. this is all on a stock bodied tc
