Aftermarket / Reman MAF sensor
So I was completing my HID retro last night. decided to test out the LED strips in the headlight housing...then suddenly a socket wrench I had laying on top of the battery positive terminal (I used a metal tool to hold down the positive LED lead wire , stupid me) and it slipped and contacted somewhere by the intake / MAF sensor area.. sparks flew!
Started up car after everything was cleaned up, rough idle, CEL came on. FML. Retro looked good, but car can't even drive!
Cleaned MAF sensor, (intake filter was cleaned recently as well), checked EFI fuse, reset the EFI fuse. STILL rough idle. Now I'm looking to buy a reman MAF sensor for $80 cuz I called dealership and they wanted $200...
My question, will a reman / aftermarket MAF sensor work fine and clear the CEL and return my engine to smoothness?
Or should I stick with OEM Denso for $200?
*Didn't have time to run to store to get CEL code read* at work atm.
