Default Radio, lighter, side mirrors dead on 2005 xB

Hi all,

Hopefully I am posting this in into the correct forum. I have a 2005 xB and the other day my radio went dead. Then I checked and my cig lighter and side mirrors were also out.

I did some research and checked the 15 ACC fuse on my inside fuse box. It was blown so I used the spare 15 that was in my fuse box under the hood.

However, everything is still out....

Does anyone know if there is a second fuse I might need to replace to get everything working again? Someone mentioned to check the dome light, and that I might need to replace the DOME fuse under the hood as well?

Any help would be appreciated since I'd rather not have to check 20 fuses to see if all of them are blown or not.

Thanks.

Thanks 05. I will check it out. My dome light actually works, so I didn't think to check that fuse. I will take a look though.

You probably have a short in the ACC circuit, and blew the same fuse again. Get a multimeter and trace the system until you find the short. Do NOT put a higher amp fuse in the fuse block, or you run the risk of melting wires and starting a fire.

Well that's a bit tougher!

Maybe a body panel is pinching a wire somewhere (if he took something apart, etc).

Renewing this thread: 2006 xB. I replaced the 15 A ACC fuse (with the 15A Dome fuse from under the hood because I had already scavenged the 15A spare for another project), and the Cig lighter works and the mirrors adjust, but still no factory radio. Blank display. Suggestions? (Fuse blew originally from a shorted USB charger/converter in the Cig hole.)
Thanks!

OK! Thanks for your patience: Replaced the 15A Dome fuse under the hood and all's well. The Dome fuse also controls (deletes) the Trip A and Trip B record.

So, now we know that the Radio needs both the ACC and the Dome fuses to work.
