my xA is still standard...
i want to install 17'x7.0 rims...
but i want to know what is the best hight for lowering without making it bumpy depending on what suspension kit to install coilover or what else...

the 'bumpyness' depends on the spring stiffness and shock valving, not on the height of the car.

most of the companies making springs for our car also make the ride smoother at the same time. The only two that seem to make it worse are TRD and RSR, at least from what I've read. I have Spy springs and think the ride is much softer(smoother) then stock.

sure...

thanks for the replay....

another question please: what is better TRD or Eibach?

does the Eibach springs coil-over or TRD stuff are sold in the UK?
because it will be easier & cheaper for me to order from the UK.

theres rarely such a thing as a 'better' spring. Anybody is capable of producing a quality coil spring.

Its a question of priorities. If you want a really low ride, get springs that drop it a full two inches. If you are worried about ground clearance, get some that only lower it an inch. If you want optimum performance, get some with constant high rates, if you want a smooth ride get some progressive rate springs.

it can be hard to find this info because most customers aren't savy enough to care about these details, so manufacturers don't always provide them.

you can tell if a spring is progressive or not by looking at it. The space between coils will change along the length of the spring if it is progressive. The first few inches of travel will compress the spring easily, then it will get stiffer. Making small bumps get absorbed easily.

I drive a Suzuki Grand Vitara, with a 2.5 Lift kit. replacing the spring, damper and A ARM. The ride is rougher to say the least. Much rougher. I now feel every bounce,
Help when i go 4wheeling up in Paragon in PA.

So what should i expect from a suspension change?

TRD spring and damper combo? Do i get better ride comfort?

With Tein coilover? Do i get better ride comfort?

Is it better to lower your car first, then put your rims...or the other way around?
