Talking [need Help] Amp installation on a 2011 xB with stock HU

Hi guys !

Im new here here so what's up ! ?

I got a good deal on a alpine amp and a 10" sub and i need some help for the setup.

Let's explain the setup

Car is xB11 with stock Pioneer PT546-00100 with sub output.

So i have 2 question, i need to figure out the remote wire on the HU " i readed online that it was the gray one " but i'm not sure to understand, i need to strip a part of the wire and weld the remote cable to the gray wire ?

And i need advise where to install the amp im not looking for a fancy, flashy setup i want to hide the amp " if it's possible" and under the passager seat is a really great place but where i live "canada" we have snow, salt, water and i will need the vent clear for heating in the winter. So under a seat is a no go.

Any good advise ! ?

Thank you guys

I will post some pic of the installation as a reward if someone help me !! ahah

I assume you mean solder the wires together, I wouldn't weld any 20 gauge wire LOL

also if you aren't concerned with location then I would just mount it to the back seat back or trunk area or behind the rear quarter panels.. Not no many other options at that point.. the search feature will be your best friend..

Good luck

Under the back seat is great for the amp, just watch how you yank up the seat. Do it wrong and something you never knew you had in your lower back will hurt for a week! Instead of soldering, I'd use tap connectors and a crimping tool. Why not solder? For one, most people can't do it right. Takes a bit of practice, and you're working with a hot tool in places where cosmetics can be damages. Crimping is fast, easy to learn and most importantly, electrically and physically secure. Besides, every connection in your car is crimped.

You have to turn on the subwoofer in the radio settings... I don’t remember how to get there I know you have to turn the car on... then turn the radio off... Then hold menu if I’m not mistaken.

Initial Setting
When the SSP is held while the
power is in “OFF” position, switches
to the SETUP menu. When the
MULTI SELECTOR is turned, the
setting item of the SETUP menu
will switch in the following order:

SUBWOOFER CONT
OPENING TITLE
SSP CAR TYPE

SUBWOOFER CONT:
A menu for switching the subwoofer
ON and OFF when a subwoofer
is connected.
When switched to ON, you can
hear the sound from the subwoofer
and enter the subwoofer
settings on the AUDIO CONTROL
menu displayed by pressing the
SSP button while the power is in
ONposition.
When switched to OFF, no sound
can be heard from the subwoofer.

When the MULTI SELECTOR is
pressed, switches in the following
order:
OFF ON

Well I tried the thick red all the way to the left, the kicker 1000.1 safety light lit but stayed at red, so that one is a no go...

The only other red is the one on the far right and, ill have to test it during the day...

Thanks anyways guys everything else seems good, and in only one step away...

Ill post pics of the back of my radio tomorrow, the layout is a little different even though its is the same exact model pt546-00100

I have a 2011 Xb if that helps...

I just recheck it's the gray wire but they add another piece of wire between the original one and the unit ( maybe for the bluetooth or my remote starter with alarm ).

So normaly it would be gray yes

Solved it. The subwoofer that was the first one that was being tested, the cables inside came loose, because of it being moved around. THe GRAY cable is the RIGHT one... Thanks guys, thanks for all the help.
