NST Crank Pulleys are very popular with the Scion xA, xB, xD, and tC crowd. Those of you who have/had a first gen tC know these pulleys. You may own a set, or know of someone who has one on their car...

In addition, we will offer a choice of custom colors for members of this GB. Red, Gray, Black, Blue, Gold, and Purple will be made available for GB members. Future production pulleys will ONLY be available in Red and Graphite Gray.

sh!t im ready now for the pulley...i gotta call today for the strut bar! i have 700 bucks that im waiting to spend...guess ill get my motor mount now and then wait to buy the strut bar and pulley when they start collecting.. Not to go off topic but im really surprised at how many tc2 im starting to see now... i got mine in jan and i did not see one on the road till about april, now i see one almost everyday lurking around on the highway.

LOL, NST never actually agreed to do the numbering. In fact, Mike hasn't even acknowledged the suggestion. :P But people dropping from group buys like this is to be expected. People get excited about a good deal and then get buyer's remorse. I was really happy we got 20 names at one point just because I figured it would be what we needed to have 15 follow through.

don't pick red or grey...cuz then if they dont number them...it would just look like the production ones later

they should use a different shade red and grey for the group buy to keep it completely exclusive

This has probably already been covered, but the prototype on Josh's ride appears to be close to solid. Will the final product look more like the samples on the OP? And if it does, will that make it a few ounces lighter?

yes and yes. but obviously is not going to be a big difference. just slightly a bit lighter. so with it being lighter gains COULD increase very slightly.

Damn everyone is getting nervous...im getting mine because i dont plan on having the car next year...once the fr-s comes out im hoping in one as soon as it hits the dealership...i know people that have had the pulleys before with no problems so im not worried(and they beat their cars up on a regular)

dont worry buddy. once you get this installed on your car and feel the difference. you will be glad you didnt back out. and it sucks to the people that did/couldnt by it yet. because they have to pay more and wont get a cool/unique color.

Yeah NST pulley systems are amazing i had one on my xD and xB and they make the car feel great. RPM's match up nice between gears and it took alot of stress of the engine crank got about 1-2 mpg better from it on each so anyone that has doubts about this part dont they are amazing and this company makes some of the best ones :)

install...is not for the average joe. i recommend taking it to a mechanic. should take under an hour to install. nothing else needed. so far there is not a dyi until they come out and someone trys it themselves

It may be a bit of work to install, but it will be worth it. Removing weight from the crank or anything connected to the crank has a dramatic effect on an engine's spool time. I have no problem believing the gains they posted on dyno pulls.

Im not worried about it. NST always makes high quality parts. I dont know the reasoning as to why we are beyond our estimated time. But I personally will gladly wait until its ready.

Has anyone looked into installing these pulleys? I've never installed anything like this, and I was just wondering how easily it could be done, or if it's something a shop must do. If so, how much would it cost? $125 sounds awesome for 20hp increase but if it's a rediculous install, it might change a few peoples mind.

They probably aren't aware of the controversial nature of lightweight crankshaft pulleys. Maybe they think it's just like replacing the oil cap w/ the TRD one? Can't imagine that having any effect, so why a pulley, if it's the same size? That's noobie thinking for ya.

Well as far as I am aware yes. I had went in, in person and he looked at me like I was retarded when I asked him a price on the install for it. But he clicked away on his computer and said yes. I don't see why they wouldn't. It isn't their car.

And $99 sounds like the going rate. I was talking to a friend and he told me that Midas replaced a pulley for him before for around that price. yes I did. He asked what the purpose of it was. I told him I wanted it because its a lightweight performance part and he said yes. I hope to have it soon so I can call the dealer and find out 100%

Guys, I hope you can understand that I HATE HATE HATE the delay A LOT more than and of you do. No one wants to get these pulleys out in your hands, on your cars, and on our website more than I do. We are not delaying just to make you angry or be jerks towards our customers.

Unfortunately the manufacturing process takes a long time with new products and their first (initial) production run. It is more wise to take extra time and do it correctly than to put a potentially flawed product into the customer's hands.

I was hoping that the large discount and extra color options offered with this group buy (along with our excellent reputation here on SL since 2005) would be enough of an incentive to earn your patience.

We are in the final phase of production now, the anodizing process. We expect to have pulleys in the mail within the next 10-15 days.

As always, I am available to take your phone calls Monday through Friday and would be happy to chat with any of you in person. I really do not see a need for anyone to post derogatory or insulting comments towards anyone else here.
