View Full Version : HP, Speed Chip / Modules - Any good for real? jaymo 03-22-2005, 08:41 PM ANyone have any on their Scions??? Looked up on Ebay, there's quite a few for sale...But, do they really do anything at all? :eyebrow: Sciond 03-22-2005, 10:03 PM useless..there is no magic bullet 03-22-2005, 10:24 PM i have been wondering if they work also. jaymo 03-23-2005, 12:03 AM Well, they advertise it WILL give you a lot of goodies..HP, etc...Ebay should remove their A * * ! dgHotLava 03-23-2005, 12:10 AM if it worked don't you think that would be the first thing all of would have done???? its a scam...it gives you extra power for 10 mins until the ECU learns and corrects for it... they also sell spray to cure baldness, would you buy that? Derk-xB 03-23-2005, 12:01 PM An actual "chip" that plugs into your car's computer works best when it's dyno-tuned. The ebay things are just junk. If it sounds too good to be true, it probably is. :tap: SCI_TC_GUY 03-23-2005, 12:22 PM .....this has been explained a Bazillion times......... The chip fools the ECU into thinking the air coming into your engine is very cold(colder air is more oxygen dense)....since your ECU is reading a dense oxygen level, it dumps more fuel into your combustion chamber even though there really isn't any more oxygen in the air.....so what you end up with is a car that runs rich and eats gas...... jaymo 03-23-2005, 03:30 PM Got it! One less MOD I don't have to spend $$ , Thanks! dgHotLava 03-23-2005, 06:27 PM done and locked... |
