I've done multiple searches already but can't seem to find the answer. Does anyone know the scion-recommended amount to cut the bumpstops by? I know someone on this forum said that they cut them in half, but i'm wondering if there is a more specific amount.

I cut mine 1" but i'm using Tom's.

i cut about one notch worth. about the difference in heights of the springs if i remember corectly

cut it by the amount of difference from stock, because you'll need roughly that amount of travel after they're installed. if you dont, its gonna hit the bumper stops and ride poorly

when gabe put mine on he cut off that first notch, seems to be the right amount.

it goes on the strut underneath the strut top. it's a foamish material that is shaped similar to a small ice cream cone. normal, not waffle cone.


and scion has no reccomendation for cutting the bumpstop. there is no directions. trd sells the springs, so it isn't in our system of accessories. no manual, no how to.

any cut to your stops is based on your own will/whims of the tech putting them in.

occaisonally may go over a bump at a speed that will push the limits of your struts & springs, causing you to "bottom out." if you didn't have bump stops you'd be slamming metal on metal. with bump stops, when you bottom out, you're slamming metal on foamish material. this foamish material is a certain height. taller bump stops allow for less travel in your struts before you bottom out. trimming the bump stops will allow for more travel.
