DG-Spec and Scion Racing Ready for Three Hour WERC Endurance Race
Current Points Leaders Poised to Take on Night Race at Buttonwillow
LONG BEACH, Calif. — This Saturday, the championship-winning DG-Spec Scion race team will take on Buttonwillow and a host of competitors during round seven of the Western Endurance Racing Championship (WERC) series. With 580 season points, the team heads into the race with a healthy 160 point lead over second place.
“Lead or no lead, we always prepare as if everything is on the line,” said team owner and driver Dan Gardner. “There’s no change in anything we do. In fact, we push even harder to make improvements in order to fiercely protect the lead we’ve worked so hard to build.”
One of the changes the team made prior to the event was building an entirely new wiring harness for the lighting. Crew Chief Sean Morris handled the task entirely from scratch in hopes of eliminating some intermittent failures with two of the lights.
The race is scheduled to be run largely under cover of darkness, so proper lighting is essential. Other tweaks were made to the car, and the team is testing several setups prior to race start. Details for the event are as follows:

Congrats to the DG Team for another win! The DG-Spec Scion Racing team, even after losing 4th gear right at the start of the race, won by 3 laps and moved from 13th to 8th overall.
