Default crank pulley? New to modding=)

I have a 09 tc auto. ive been thinking if i should buy a crank pulley.

my tc has....
injen cai
hks exhaust
dme headers
cherry bomb glass pack resonator (to get rid of rasp)

i decided against spipe/midpipe as i see theres not any gain at all. (or so ive read)

im not putting a turbo on my tc. so with that im trying to get as much whp as possible (dont care about street legal)

so is a crank pulley worth it?

http://www.fastscions.com/Agency-Pow...-SCTC-130.aspx

was going to buy this one. i figure that if its easier to spin, less hp to spin it in result.
same size as stock but lighter

any feedback is amazing and im thankful!
also any feedback for ways to gain hp will help too.

in the future (forsure going to buy)

bc cams
chip
anything else?

thanks!

A pulley will help you out a little bit... about as much as the CAI does. You can get a pulley for like $80 at other websites. I also have an 09 tC auto but I have the RS. Mine is not modded besides what it came with but I know a bit about modding. As far as getting as much horsepower out of the car without going turbo you pretty much hit the ceiling almost. If your dead set on not going turbo then I wouldn't do anymore to the engine cause it's not really worthwhile cause you paying lots of money for parts that are not getting you much horsepower. If I where you and you want to spend more money on the car then I would work on some rims and stance. I imagine your car sounds like business so now make it look like business. Hope this helps out a fellow auto driver.

If you do a full up lightweight pulley swap you could be looking at 12-15 more hp, well not more but less parasitic loss. Between the crank pulley, alternator and water pump you can shed a few lbs in the swap. There is of course the debate about engine longevity that is lost when you swap to lighter weight pulleys.

It's an ok place to find a few more hp as a bolt on mod but all together without ripping into the engine you aren't going to get much more then ~25hp out of all the bolt ons, maybe 30hp if you throw in some engine management to help get the most out of the changes.

thanks for the imput!

yeah, auto...sadly. but i did get my car while in high school (also when i couldnt drive a manual due to the lack of learning how to!) but now i do know. and i was actually looking into swapping it to manual but then i figured the $$ behind it. meh but my next scion will be manual.

and that good to know about no more mods. what about cam shafts? still cant find the gain anywhere online, anyone know if its worth the $$?

and the chip i will buy. ive been looking but i cant find one that doesnt make me feel sketch. i know the gain isnt going to be crazy, but what i want is a gain and not waste my moolah to a bs chip. any idea for a good chip.

thanks guys, yall friendly! =)

Don't use a chip and have it profesionally tuned. Depending where you are from I bet there is a pro tuner within 100 miles of you.

Search and read, there's been a pulley thread about every week that answers your question. Basically it will free up a few horsepower and give a bit of throttle response. However in doing so it can be a risk to the motor in the long run. Cams are a lot of money for the gain.

Chips/tuning. There is not an actual chip for these cars. There are handheld tuners (unichip) that plug in and a flash a tune. Getting a "pro tune" or a "real tune" will mean you need to invest into an ECU system like AEM. This is VERY expensive for a "bolt on."

Really what this boils down to is, you can spend a lot of money on bolt ons and such and stay n/a and gain a bit of power. Or save for a turbo and gain a fair amount of power. Either way with the bolt ons you have, you're almost it for power.
