Default FEELER THREAD: NonStopTuning Short Shift Kit for tC2?

How many of YOU would be interested in a short shift kit by NST?

Such a kit would be similar to the kit we have offered in the past for the Toyota Yaris and the Scion xD, an engine bay kit that would modify the location where the cable attaches to the transmission.

FAQs:

Q: When would NST go into production, if at all?
A: NST will decide whether pieces will go into production based on feedback in this thread. Please post if interested.

Q: What would the NST price point be?
A: $100.00 to $125.00

Q: What material would NST use?
A: The same grade of aluminum we use for our pulley kits, hard anodized in a few different color options.

Thanks again everyone, good luck and have fun with all your projects!

That's a refreshing price point -- let's do it! Only thing is . . . I don't know how long I can wait, I'm eager for an alternative to the stock shifter's sloppy, imprecise feel.

A couple questions:

1) Will you be offering cable and/or base bushings as well?
2) How about a relocated neutral position?

If you could come up with something like TWM's kit (with relocated neutral & whatnot) but at a lower price point I'm sure people would be all over it. TWM is great, I won't knock their long-standing reputation for quality, but their prices are too damn high.

would your engine bay shifter be > or = to TWM's setup or is the price difference for performance difference?

Does this short shift kit also shorten length of the shifter stick or only the length of throw?

^only length of throw.

Hey NST any idea on what the reduction in throw would be? I am running a TRD right now, but if the NST counterpart has a shorter throw, I will be in on it.

I currently have a TRD SS. Like previously mentioned, if NST can relocate neutral position, shorten the shifter itself, shorten the throw even more, and not require me to donate a kidney to purchase it, I am in.

If y'all want NST to develop this you might want to email them and express your interest. October of last year was a bad time for this, there was low demand. Now it has picked up and this might be worth NST pursuing.

I just emailed NST about possible interest in this product. Hopefully they'll look into it
