Default Any real difference?

Did anybody notice a difference that you could feel with the addition of an engine mods? ie intake, headers, exhaust. I doubt there would be much difference because of the size of the engine. I am not expecting a huge gain, but did you guys notice a difference that you would say was worth the cash?

On the xb due to the small engine size an intake and/or header will had 8-10hp if your lucky which is gonna be at most a little faster throttle response and some power noticed but not much put it together then it would be worth it and don't bother with an exhaust unless you make it a full exhaust b/c it won't give noticeable gains... so in the long run you might get 16hp for 500 bucks for a header and intake.

Do you have them installed? I have put the basics on other cars of mine. 3.5 altima, 2000 civic si, 1993 ford mustang 5.0, and a ford f-150. I have noticed that the size of the engine does NOT always determine the how much of a difference you will feel. My 1.6 dohc vtec engine was a huge difference with just the intake. I didn't notice a difference with the 3.5 altima. It didn't sound like it was worth the money to add an intake because I haven't seen anyone say that it was a noticeable difference.

I notice power gains in the top end. Low end feels the same but on the high end, it feels more responsive and seems to get up the mph faster. Your not gonna notice any real big differences. I have an AEM CAI, Dc header, and full custom Magnaflow exhaust. I just got them for the sound.

Matty,

The filter for the Injen short ram actually sits behind the foglight in the bumper cover and gets plenty of cold air from the middle grille and front the air flowing under the front plastic pan that snaps to the fenders/front lip and inner fender well.

The short ram will help w/ acceleration, and cold air intakes usually benefit freeway driving. I still get 30 mpg driving on the freeway at 75+ mph w/ the short ram.

The Injen "short ram" is a quality setup and you should most certainly feel a little extra umph. I did. I averaged 35mpg on a recent road trip, too!

I noticed a GOOD increase in power from 0 to about 45mph. The top end feels the same to me, it still struggles to stay at 80mph on the highway. The throttle response and low end are a lot better though.

Oh yeah, Injen SR and custom 2.25" exhaust.

Peace

K&N Typhoon CAI and Borla Exhaust made a big differance to me. I can cruise at 100 easy.

the injen short ram pretty much is a cold air, just without all the extra tubing. and it gives the largest gains for the xb out of all the cold airs and everything on the market.

I think the Injen CAI helped a lot with my Box, especially in the low RPMs. It starts off a lot better than before where you wouldn't feel it really start pulling until it was around 3K RPMs. I've got the auto, BTW.

Worth the money to me.

Yup!

When I installed my projector headlights I noticed there is a big ol hole that feeds air to the SIR on the xB.

More air and making the engine more efficient will always make more power. AND yes you will notice a difference from the first time you drive. I ran my Xb stock for 1 week. Then I got Injen short ram Dc sports Header and Trd exhaust. Felt like a whole new car.

My dad put a injen Ram air intake on my mom's xb and it gets up in RPM's alot faster than mine. i can tell a differance. i just modded my stock airbox and i think it might have helped a little bit.

also i took out my spare tire and the syrofome(sp) stuff and the lid thing in the back cargo area, it weight about 33 pounds
