YIKES - Driver side floor rain water LEAK!
Hey guys,
So I've been battling a mysterious leak in xB for about a month now.
After a good rainy day, the driver side floor gets wet. Not like 4" of standing water, but pretty darn wet. The firewall is bone dry and the floor plugs seem to be in OK shape (I resealed them anyway). I have not cut them to run any wires. Nothing is leaking from the headliner or windshield as far as I can tell. The source seems to be lower. The rest of the floor is dry, even under the driver seat.
Today I saw a horizontal floor seam (under the white foam pad below the pedals) had a couple spots where the factory sealant was incomplete. I resealed it with epoxy, though I find it hard to believe water could find its way in through there. That panel isn't directly exposed on the underbody.
Anyway, just wanted to see if anyone had similar issues and found a common solution.
Thanks guys, tracking down a leak like this is a pain.

Yep, factory.
The metal seam was bowed up a tiny bit over a three inch section, thus, the factory sealant had a gap in coverage.
I got in a fender bender last year, I'm wondering if the joint got tweaked a bit and slowly loosened up until now.
Still not 100% sure this was the source of the leak. I'll have to wait until the next heavy rain, lol.

Curious. Cause i've battled leaks in both boxes, in the same location. but it's at the headliner, on the drivers side, right up against the windshield. Thought on my first box it was cause my sunroof, but my other box doesn't have one. Its only on hard rains, when the nose is pointing down hill. if its pointing up hill, nothing at all comes in.
Well, I stayed dry today in the rain! So hopefully that seam just needed resealed. We'll see if my luck continues.
Today I was parked on a slight slope toward the passenger side. I'll try parking the opposite way tomorrow to ensure I'm good to go.
