Nope, doesn't compliment the car very much. The front lip looks nice but no the HRE's.

Yea I agree. I don't like it but wanted to share it. I am a fan of simple 5 spoke wheels. thats what belongs on the car

Thanks for sharing, it's a good chop. I'm not sure what wheels I would want for it, sucks that it's 5x100 but there are options out there

You sure its 5x100?

WTF thats retardedddddd. Even the XB2 is 5x114

my thoughts exactly...stupid Subaru hubs (I think), even though a lot of Toyota/Scion's are 5x100. I just don't get why they did it since the tC/xB2 are 5x114

The GReddy FR-S is running a 5x114 adapter to be able to use those RAYS it's riding on.

Yeah, adapters are going to be the way to go

CleanFMtC

So it's running a 5x100 to 5x114 adapter? Or is it a hub conversion?

HRE on a scion... ehh... little overkill lol

adapters

I don't think those suit the car at all.

HRE isn't some godsend wheel company. Therefore I don't get your logic.

HRE might not be godsent but when you pay4k+ it doesnt belong on a scion that costs 5 times the price of the wheels

Yeah, adapters are going to be the way to go

Guess I never thought of that option. If I get the car I don't feel like dropping a ton of money on a set of wheels when I already have some.

Tell that to the Honda and VW guys. It doesn't matter what you spend the money on, you're esentially saying no sub-$20k car should be modded. Especially when you realize just $2500 is 1/8th of the cars value. And you know a lot of people spend more than that.

And I don't get why people think they can dictate what belongs on a particular car. Something I've never understood.

For me its way to much. for someone who has the money to drop all the money they want on a car either should of bought a nicer car or is going outrageous on the car for a specific purpose. But for the general people buying a car like this at its price range more than likely will be more conscious about what they spend it on. Wheels costing 4k+ doesn't make sense. Turbo kit for the car would.

If I were considering dropping $4k on a turbo, I would take that money and use it to increase my down payment on a faster car to begin with.

And if you're going to spend $4k on a turbo, why does someone spending that same amount on something different, i.e. wheels and coilovers, all of a sudden make it illogical?

The purpose of this car is to be a lightweight fun track car. Drifting, racing or whatever. Turbo the car is definitely not out of the question for the purpose of this car. big exspensive wheels that belong on 100k cars just seems weird. Each there own, big ups to anyone who can put that kind of money into a cars wheels. I would love to be able to do the same but like you said I would put it into the payment of the car or another car.

I know with my tC, i spent a lot for some things that many would have thought stupid to be spending on this car for. i could have gotten a much more expensive car totaling everything up.
But the thing is, I didn't want a different car instead if it, i still want the tC, lol.

just like with my next car, i may or may not spend a lot on this or that. To someone else it might be illogical, but for me at least, when i buy a car, it isn't because I want to spend a lot of money so it is as good or better then something else i would rather want, I want the car i got, not something else that i could have used as much money on.

it was the same thing when i went to get my xD, I wanted the xD specifically. (in a specific color)
i had to wait 8 months but they finally got me one and 1.5yrs later I still wouldn't get something else, though i have not wanted to do nearly as much to it as i have on the tC.

next it is either going to be the FR-S (hopefully the first RS is awesome thats what i am really waiting for!) or a new camaro.
So far the FR-S has a lead because chevy went at discontinued the ONE color left i really wanted and the replacement isn't as nice, IMO

A faster stock vs stock car sure, but most times you will find the guy who spent $4k on the cheaper car, by buying a turbo setup....blowing your doors off at the track.

Should a guy with a GTR who dropped a crap load of money for a Switzer performance package....go buy a Bugati Veron instead?

I was mainly speaking of what I'd do concerning my tC. But of course you can spend less money and go faster. There are a lot of older cars you can spend $4k on and be quicker than a lot of cars on the market today.

Umm your obviously not getting the conversation. That is a completely different comparison. You guys are blowing this WAYYYY out of proportion

My comment was far a couple of reasons.... Volk, Ray's, work, what have you on an import.

HRE usually on eurotrash or the like....

That and for 6k with tires... WTF... it's a 20k ish car. don't get me wrong... dropping 20k into a 18 year old car isn't the smartest thing I've done but I'm keeping it around to enjoy.

To each- his or her own

Cars price is irrelevant. It's how much passion you have your vehicle and the mods you do to it.
