How many tc2 owners are thinking about trading their tc in for the f-rs or brz?
If I do trade mine in it would be for an rs series and I've come across the pics of the TRD frs Toyota version and the frs with the modellista kit.

I'd have to drive one and they would have to give me a decent payoff on mine to even consider it. The FRS is a beautiful ride no doubt. First year production cars can be mechanical/electrical nightmares too. The way Scion is treating their current customers with warranty issues, I highly doubt I will buy another Scion/Toyota.

Yea I feel you on that first production run and I've learned my lesson. Ill wait for the brz because I'm sure they will come out with an sti version but then again they might not because Toyota owns Subaru.

Yeah, nothing out there in my price range really meets all my requirements right now anyways. Plus 200 h.p. does not excite me one bit, even if the car is roghly 400 lbs. lighter than the Tc2. Good thing is as long as my Tc2 holds up, I can "give" it to the wifey and trade/sell her paid off 03 Jeep Liberty and buy the next car I want. She loves my car. I had to put a whole new stereo system in her Jeep to get her out of my Tc. I don't like to share much...hehe

the car looks sick! my main thing with them is the 200hp and 150tq and from the interior photos ive seen im not to big on the interior really. so doubt if ill be getting one. but will be test driving one as soon as my dealer gets one.

Is it just me or do you guys also agree that the f-rs should have been the new tc?

How many tC2 owners are kicking themselves for not waiting on this to come out and jumping at the tC2?

I know I'll be getting rid of my tC for an FR-S

to be honest I like my rs7 more then the frs. other then the fast that its RWD nothing baout it really excites me. They look nice but I have no plans on trading in, i personaly like the body lines on the rs7 w/ the kit more then the frs. And beign a civic tuner I love FF cornering anyways. AWD does excite me but not w/ anything less then 350hp

due to the fact that my tc2 was just wrecked i have considered the fr-s my biggest problem with it is it seems they put all this time into making the exterior look nice and trying to make a new engine they forgot about the interior... and with the 2012 scion marked at 180 hp at 6000rpm with 173 ft lb of torque at 4100rpms it kinda seems dumb to buy a rwd car with only 20hp increase on a 7000rpm scale with less torque....and a downgrade in interior not to mention the fact that the fr-s is marked at needing premium gas which just means more money to spend at the pump now dont get me wrong i do like the exterior design (not near as much as the original concept) but still i feel the Tc2 is a much better car all together and who knows there may be a rwd conversion kit available within the next couple of years

just my 2 cents

i love my tC2 and i wouldn't trade it. one reason is because of my current sponsorships and my ability to get more...from my sources, aftermarket manufactures are already working on parts for it and hope to release them around the same time the fr-s is released...why? because the fr-s is aftermarket ready. i can't confirm or deny, but i've heard that there are cutouts in the panel that can be removed for easy installation of suspension parts such as a roll cage without having to empty out the interior.

oh and the interior...what are u guys talking about!? you guys cray cuz the interior is SICK! its super detailed and very racer oriented. maybe its because i saw it in person, but the interior is truly amazing. the only knock on it is the bench-like back seat...but this is really a "2 seater, 2 door, sports car"...the back seats are in there to make it a "4 seater" because of insurance purposes (as in people can benefit from cheaper insurance rates event though its a "racer car")

and the exterior, not as great as the concept....but what car is? looking past the comparison, the car is still nice. also just wait for aftermarket companies to release (i say release because they are already making) lip kits. i can say already that the 5axis lip kit makes the fr-s look even more aggressive and dare i say?....borderline concept looking

the main thing that glares at you however is the price/performance ratio....for a Scion...for a toyota...it is REALLY good. but compared to the market....next year there will be a number of cars at or less than the price, but significantly higher in hp. the hyundai genesis coupe is only getting stronger at an affordable price. the new mustang aint not joke nor is it as much of a gas guzzler as it was before. heck i've heard that ford is releasing a focus that is supercharger equipped. the only real leverage fr-s has is the Scion/Toyota legacy and reputation. for the people that look for the brand name vs what you get...and there are a lot of people like that...just because its a Scion/Toyota is a deal maker.

also the BRZ will not come out as an STI. only the concept is and there are only one of those, wont make any more of them either

I have mixed feelings on switching out my tC2 for an FRS.

200 hp isn't worth writing home about and as we all saw with the tC2, the first production year comes with quirks and bugs.

On the other hand, if this car is classed well (and with 200 hp, it should be), this could be the car to take down the Miata in AutoX. Small, lightweight, rwd and low stock hp make an ideal AutoX car!

the FRS is basically build to be track ready...while the tC2 is more of a DD

I agree. If I were to get FR-S or BRZ, I would choose BRZ for the warranty troubles. I'm tired of hearing "It's normal" and "We don't hear anything". :loser:

^^ how do u know Subbie dealership wont be the same way?

IMO, dealing warranty issues are dependent by the dealership....regardless of brand

all of the dealership i have gone to (all toyota) have always been really helpful with warranty or non-warranty issue. and i rarely ever have to pay anything. it mainly depends on how much the service people want to help you...

i think its kind of dumb to knock a car for "warranty issues" because it has nothing to do with the car itself. if the dealership wont help u and u dont want to deal with warranty issues...then try to fix it yourself and dont deal with any of it. sure maybe they "should" do something or whatever, but if they dont...its no reason to say this car is bad

At least, they won't know me by face and will not think "I don't want to help you anymore" in their mind just by seeing my face. I've been visiting Toyota's service department once a month for over 1/2 year for the problem I have with my tC2. They think I'm being unreasonable. If I happen to have a problem with FR-S, they will give me "I don't want to help you anymore" look again

try to fix it yourself
Professional Toyota mechanics had my car for total of 50 days trying to fix it and they couldn't. I don't know how I can even believe that I can fix it my own.

not literally fix it yourself...i mean if u could then go for it

other than that...fix it yourself at another shop or something. the dealerships arent the only place u can go

I am convinced 80/20% that i am going to trade my 07 tc. I am hitting 100k and why not. Love the exterior like the interior. And as far as 200hp well look we all got tc or whatever else and still the hp is sad on it :) and as it was said there will be soo many aftermarked parts and soo many big companies will work on this car if anything thats because of the original AE86 idk i am all for it but first i hot to test drive it

toyota dealer and scion corp. have been great. have worked free of charge on non warranty items. scion paid to stay in vegas free, unlimited alchohol, fed me, and gave me 2 credit cards.

How would he get a BRZ? they're europe only correct?

It'd be silly to have Fr-s and BRZ sold in the states.

It's my understanding from all the articles I read that the brz has a us release of spring 2012.

Yes it seems silly to have both sold in the states. But they are both going to be and I'm sure advantages/disadvantages between them will show up.

I own a 2010 xb, but like the are two different machines I will keep my microwave on wheels and the FR-S if it comes in TRD version Like the BRZ STI, and from what I read the BRZ STI is non turbo, for now and it has a bunch of badged parts that are not worth the buy. Like this duh soooo necesary http://ll.speedhunters.com/u/f/eagames/NFS/speedhunters.com/Images/Dino%20Dalle%20Carbonare/2012/JAN2012/BRZSTI/AY0F4896.jpg

I'm interested in seeing what the RS will come with. I liked the content of the tC2 RS, so maybe it will be worth the wait...?

If not, I'll probably find a used 370Z with my name on it. :P

Sat in the FR-S today and I must say I'm impressed. It's not flashy but the layout is good. Materials are far superior to the tC2 and the seats are to DIE FOR!

Still waiting for an RS though haha.

i wanna give a shout out to all my tc2 peeps..... whats up ____ers lol.... um my situation is i drive a 92 honda civic hatchback with a b18 swap so its got a little go and its fun to drive but i am 27 years old, i am making decent money and instead of trading in our(mostly my wife's) lowered and slightly carboned tc2, i'm thinking of selling my car and picking up a fr-s. but like everyone else i have my hesitations. such as yeah new cars come out and they do have problems. also we were going to trade in our tc2 for a mitsubishi evolution x . ..all wheel drive . . . . .factory turbo. . but honestly the interior looked like it came out of an early 90's vehicle.so to cut along story short . . .i didnt like the the tc2 when we had our tc1 . .untill we went and not only saw it in person and test drove. so before we decide . . we need to drive . . .but yeah i'm inlove with what i have seen so far.

Um. No. The FR-S is a bit on the small side, and I like hanging a functional back seat.

I strongly considered a Mustang, but found the rear seat too small. If you're gonna dive an FR-S, you're clearly going for fun over function. Just grab an MX-5 Miata, skip the vestigial rear seat and get an an open top roadster!

I knew the ft-86 was in the works when I bought my tC. I wish the tC wasn't saddled with wrong-wheel drive, but it's not a true sports car, so that's acceptable.

I would love to have a Scion F-rs but I am in a different spot in my life..

Also I would want to wait until there is an F-rs Turbo as my current scion is putting out 320 HP and I hate to downgrade :P...
