Over the winter I'm going to be finishing up my 05 turbo tC. Fixing issues and upgrading other things. A must is my suspension. I currently have oem stirs with Tien springs and the struts had enough. I have a lot of stuff to buy for the car so I'm tryn to budget certain parts without sacrificing performance. Should I buy Koni Yellows for my Tien springs or spend a lot more on GOOD coilovers. I will be bringing the car to the track to see what's the best time I can get in the 1/4 mile....what do u guys think???

 

i think if you plan on tracking the car a lot like auto X and stuff then i would get the coilovers but if your planning on daily driving it then just go with Koni yellows there pretty solid and will get you the same drop you already have

 

save up a lil extra money and spend on coils (wish i would've long time ago ); or get the tokico struts if you dont wanna pay the money for koni yellows or coils

Koni yellows are $600 shipped. GOOD coilovers are $800 ++++++ ..... I don't plan on auto x only drag. But I'm tryn to keep the ride good, I'm happy with my drop, and I need the rear stiff so I can get as much traction in the front as possible. Right now the car is bouncy because the oem struts are shot.

 

If I go with coilovers which ones would do what I need....any recommendations?

 

Tein basic should give you all now need since you aren't doing any track events.

coils so later in the you dont kick your self in the ___ for not being able to go lower or higher.

ps i ride on rokkor coilovers and cant complain drove on them maxxed out on one collar for a while no problem and more comfortable then my tein s i had before. cheap also

KW Variant 2's... I can assure you that these coilovers provide excellent grip while also allowing easy adjustment to control your damping force.

They aren't the least expensive option, are very comparable to Tein SSP's, but are rigid when you need them to be. You will be satisfied.

If you can wait a little bit or if you wanted dibs on mine, let me know. They might be up for sale in the near future, but this is by no means a sales listing post.

If I went with coilovers, for some JDM cred ;-), which I didn't, the only ones I would have

 

Used are KW.
BUT, I decided to use Koni Yellow strut inserts and shocks with Ground Control coilover sleeves.

 

Either way, get rid of the tein springs if you are looking for function. Use Eibach or H&R
