View Full Version : feeling kind of burned out...
Sublimize23 03-26-2005, 06:08 AM does anyone ever get burned out with the car? I love it, but I'm almost starting to get bored of it... I have a couple stereo mods (apline deck and a sub), but I'm not getting the same "spark" I had when I first got it last november. maybe I just need a new mod, tints or lowering or something... anyone else ever get the same way? :tap:
J_A_Trevino 03-26-2005, 06:28 AM i would get that way with my truck but i think it just wasnt the vehicle for me ive a few mods to my b and im pretty darn happy with it

ThunderGod 03-26-2005, 08:30 AM com-pla-cent (kem-pla-sent) adj. 1. Contented to a fault; self-satisfied: succeeded so often he had become complacent.
Just look at it from a different angle. Or just get Modding!
Sciond 03-26-2005, 10:57 AM just go trade for a RS 2
richdog 03-26-2005, 12:09 PM always think ahead.........when you get one mod start savin and thinkin about the next one.....that is what I do......just a thought
Dasiee 03-26-2005, 03:32 PM Usually when that happens I just buy a new set of wheels....or wait for summer and the spark comes back!
bBsactoguy 03-26-2005, 06:03 PM YES!!!! Indeed. Summer summer summer is the best time for an xB... I can't wait.
But nonetheless, I think i need a stereo mod. Perhaps I'm getting bored of my stock stereo.
Man, this post sounds like an AAA for people who are bored of their scion... Im sad HAHAHA
xBino 03-26-2005, 06:20 PM Go on a trip somewhere, preferably on a nice, windy road with a beautiful view. Spend some quality time with her to rekindle the spark!
bBsactoguy 03-26-2005, 06:29 PM hahha indeed

Sublimize23 03-26-2005, 08:16 PM maybe I'll go to cecil county drag strip this friday. If I was getting something else, it would be a 95-99 mustang GT, what I originally wanted. I love that car.
Sublimize23 03-26-2005, 08:17 PM thanks you guys, for the responses. I think I will order some lowering springs soon. I decided to take the B to go visit my grandparents in a little while. I have a 2 hr drive. I hope this will change things...
grnxb 03-26-2005, 08:21 PM It's just a car. (Yes, I know I will be tied to a stake a burned alive...). Maybe you should find a hobby. (gardening, skydiving, dating girls, etc)
Sublimize23 03-26-2005, 08:23 PM trust me, I have plently of hobbies. I ride motocross and play paintball. but a lot of times I am at school or work, so I don't get to do either too much anymore...
K9_Crate 03-26-2005, 09:50 PM Take the bus for a while. If that doesn't rekindle your love of da Box, nothing will.
Hammerfyst 03-26-2005, 09:58 PM Bored of the Box?!?!? BURN HIM! :flame:
TheScionicMan 03-26-2005, 11:00 PM the Box IS my hobby...

Sorry you are feeling like this... For me I don't get to drive it enough... With being on the road for a week at a time, riding the motorcycle plus the other vehicles, I always look forward to "Riding the BOX"

Lonely_Raven 03-26-2005, 11:39 PM hahah, that's so rude, but funny.
I just give the box a good old cleaning and take her out on
the town. All the looks and smiles makes me love her all
the more!

That's me.
Rude, but funny.
All kidding aside though, I think if you have a new car like this and it's not making you happy anymore, you're probably looking in the wrong place for happiness.
B2FiNiTY 03-27-2005, 03:03 AM It is only human nature. 99% of us on this earth feel the same.
mfbenson 03-27-2005, 03:27 AM I second the burned out feeling. It happened when we made the silly decision to by a second scion, this time an xB. We had a miserable experience where the dealer took the better part of 3 weeks before deciding to treat us right. But during those three weeks my warm fuzzy on this brand was killed.
Just the fact that I am a member of scionlife shows that I wanted to think of these cars as more than a way of getting from point a to point b. But really, for the most part I find myself thinking they are nothing special. Just Toyotas by a different name.
joe_rogan 03-27-2005, 05:21 AM I get bored with it to sometimes, I wish every once in a while I would of bought a wrx. Oh well I will have my nice cars when I become 25.
Joe

Sorry you feel that way.... Maybe it is best you get something that DOES IT for you... Not everyone is cut out to be a TRUE Scion Fan. Many try but not all succeed. Hopefully you find your true calling. Good luck with your search

There is nothing magical about any car really. They are just machines. The joy you get from driving your car and the appreciation you have for the way it looks and the way it works is all in your head.
You could develop the same attitude about a Yugo if you lived in an Eastern European country and you were poor and saved for 6 years to buy it and it was your first car.
These are fine little economy cars, nothing more than that. But that is enough to make me smile most of the time I drive mine.

I would recommend the 2 inch goldlines from Bill Turner at scionspecialties. He will give you a great deal and they will be here fast.

http://www.jagdpanther.com/~lraven/CleanBoxMarch26th/index.htmDid you buy the sunroofs and have them installed or did you go to a place and purchase them and have them put in right there. How much were they?

I was really into the xb when I first got it, but now it's just a nice car. Don't get me wrong, I still turn my head to look at other xb's driving the other way, and I would buy another one without hesitation...but I wouldn't consider it a hobby, or something I spend much time thinking about.
bB2NER 03-28-2005, 05:12 AM WOW, thats a shame people are not feeling the same about such a bad ___ little car. I've had mine 10 months now with no change of enthusiasm. Everytime I ride the box, it's still like the very first time.
I'm not unenthusiastic. I'm just not obsessed with every detail, like what color headlights should I get NEXT or taking off all the badges and replacing them with German crosses or whatever the hell EvilDave did and so on.
The car looks really nice the way it is and most of what I see people do to it just complicates the beautiful simplicity of the design and fuglifies it and makes it look tacky. I don't worry about "oh my god should I use synthetic gear lube????" and "Why is my fuel mileage 0.02 mpg lower than last week?" and that kind of thing.
Never been like that. Real performance upgrades fascinate me. Engineering details interest me. I enjoy driving the car, I really do, I just don't obsess about it to a ridiculous level.
Then again, I do spend way too much time reading and posting on here so....
