I agree. The mirrors have enough adjustment so that all blind spots are virtually eliminated. The key is to swing the side mirrors out far enough. If you can still see the back of the car in the side mirrors, then there's waaay too much overlap with the rearview mirror. It takes a while to break oneself of the habit, though.

i thought it had some serious blindspots, especially in the back (c pillar?) but that was only because i had never driven a hatchback. now i don't notice any blind spots

Yea, you just have to undesrtand how to use mirrors, not a big deal.

People complain because in most cars you don't have to rely on the mirrors at all. The xB, for instance, has no blind spots anywhere. The tC, however, has two bad ones that can be mitigated with the mirrors, and it also has poor visibility out the front from the oversize A pillars. The mirrors can be aimed well enough to eliminate a blind spot that a car can't hide in, but there's still enough of a blind spot that a motorcycle could go unseen.

i love my tC but yeah i must say it doesn't have the greatest rear visiblity. yeah you can see it with mirrors but it's not as good imo

Hehe, I think your right.

The blind spot is where you want to see if a car is to the LEFT of your car when you are moving from the right lane to the faster left lane. The side and rear view mirrors are good but you also have to turn your head to see if a car is in the that position to your left. So when you turn your head, the visibility is not that great. However, most have this problem. The tC is about the same or a little worse than most cars I have had.

I love my tC, but it does have huge blindspots compared to many 4-door sedans, such as the Corolla I was driving before. I got used to the car and generally don't notice the blindspots anymore. If you want a car with no blindspots, then you shouldn't be looking at a coupe.

well maybe the visibility is a little on the poorer side, but it doesnt bother me! I just got 2 blind spot mirrors and now i dont even have to turn my head to change lanes :P

The kind of blind spots we have in the tC are pretty similar to what you'll find in most 2 door coupes. I had an old nissan 200sx, and its blind spots were pretty much the same. I installed the little convex mirros on my side mirrors and that solved the problem. The tC doesn't require it so much since you can adjust the mirrors further. Also, think this car is bad? I drove my friends SLK 230 and while it drove like a dream, I convinced myself I'll never get one because the rear visibility is so awful.

A comment on the front pillars, I drove up in the hills above malibu last week, with some very sharp and high angle turns. That kind of road really makes you notice how bad the front blind spots are. I wouldn't recommend goign fast on those types of turns unless you know the route befroe hand. Anyone in the Santa Monica area wanna go driving today? I think it'd be cool to have a group of 3-4 tCs going up highway 1.

Well there is no denying that visibility is somewhat poor. But it's fairly typical for a coupe like the tC. I've found visibility is helped tremendously by placing a pair of 2" add-on round panoramic mirrors to the car (one of each mirror). They cost about 2 bucks each at any auto parts store.

I haven't noticed any visibility problems after driving my EP3 Si for 2.5 years.

Didn't any of you take drivers ed or that like test to drive? Your suppose to look over your shoulders and check the mirrors. Though realy I didn't think the blind spots where that bad. I had a Protege' 5 before this and it's alot more easier to see things in the tC. Now the Sunfire GT I had a while back for my ex, that thing had some realy bad blind sights. Even my extend cab ranger was worse than the tC in my view. Adjust your mirrors folks your suppose to be useing them. That are get your co-pilot to do lane checks for you so you don't have to turn your head or look into the mirrors.
