Default 3rd gear shifting problems

So recently when I shift into 3rd gear sometimes I feel a light grinding. It seems to only happen when my car is cold and does not happen after my car is warmed up. I did some searching on this and have heard multiple things the most common being issues with the syncros. I am not to familiar with transmissions and was hoping to get input from you all.

Some other things I should note:
-car has 12500 miles
-I drive like a complete jackass and probably put A LOT more stress on my xb than most people
-months ago I seemed to have trouble shifting into 2nd gear. It usually would happen when launching (high rpms in 1st) but this problem stopped so I don't think about it.
-I was shifting through my gears while stoped and there is still a wee little grind sometimes when shifting into 3rd
-it is winter (____ gets below 30 degress)
-I have NST shift bushings, most importantly I need to make 110% sure that they are not the problem. I don't want the dealer telling me that shift bushings are the problem.

thats about all I can think of and I would appreciate any insight.

Switch to Eneos MTF. If that doesnt fix the issue, your syncro is done.

when the tranny is cold......the fluid isnt warmed up,reason why for a grind,is that there isnt enough lubercation metal to metal, some people have to shift slow when there car is cold...change your tranny fluid to eneos or something,so ill warm up quicker

Wasn't much over 20F midday here and I noticed 2nd was just a little balky at first, though not bad and it isn't usually that way at all. Penzoil Synchromesh worked wonders in my Eclipse, wonder how it would do in the xB2?

Temp was easily mid to high 30's today and 2nd was just fine. Guess it's just an oil issue at lower temps.

If it doesn't go into gear right away put in neutral pump the clutch pedal a few times then try to put it in gear. Probably won't help with grinding though.

FWIW -- anytime you're overriding your synchros, you're hurting your transmission. If you care about cost and longevity, surely it's better to cooperate with your transmission than to force it ! I suggest limiting your shift angst to your transmission's comfort zone !

My 3rd started to grind a bit...then I realized my clutch maser cylinder was going out.

I still shift into 3rd nice and slowly though.

4th gear grind here. It's not going to get better so I just shift nice and smooth into 4th every time. '08 with 120k miles.

Old transmission fluid can definitely be a shift issue (had that problem with my high miles '90 Eclipse), so if you've racked up a few miles, by all means change it. However, number one is to be kind to your transmission. Look after your mechanics and it's less likely your wallet will hemorrhage.
