Admittedly, I don't know much about this, but wouldn't neons by their very nature be more prone to shattering?

I definitely prefer neons. The spread and brightness is much better in my opinion. I saw some led's the other day and was not impressed. Companywise, you can't go wrong with StreetGlow, especially the Gold Line series. Lifetime warranty and a full kit for like 150.

Nope. LEDs are definetly the way to go. Get Varad or some other quality kit like that (you can talk to Evil Dave. thats one of his sponsors I believe) They hold up to the elements better and are brighter. They will be more expensive but in the long run, itll be cheaper than replacing tubes all the time. :lalala: LEDs no doubt. i think this has been discussed though. search it and it should come up with something though

Neons are "prone" to shattering, unless you don't know how to drive.
There is a hard plastic that covers the glass tube neon. If your a careless driver and drive over bumps on a slammed suspension even the LED's won't be a good idea.
All depends on what you prefer, and what your budget is.
I've have a set of neons on a beater, for 3 years. Drove through all weather conditions, and even sold them to a friend. Everything still worked as if they were brand new.
Basically just a matter of preference.

if you get neons they are good. But you also have to think W/ L.E.D'S your not only getting good quality but diffrent patterns. I personally am going with L.E.D'S i just purchased a Varad 1000 color changing kit.

I've got the Varad ULS400 kit on mine in orange... I love it.
Neons may provide a greater, more even spread than some LEDs (Varad = ownage), but show me a neon kit that can do 11 scan (ea. with 3 speeds), 2 breathe, 2 strobe (ea. with 3 speeds), and 3 music reaction settings :D

They range from $120 to $200 bucks. I bought my StreetGlows off Ebay 2 months ago. Mine are only Blue, but that is what I wanted. I thought all the colors would make me look like a circus. But I've since seen them on other cars and the multi-colors look cool too.

I think LEDs are more durable but more expensive. I picked up my neons for $99. I think for a tuner on a budget, the neon are the way to go.

I saw some neon tubes at Value One Direct for $30.00.
If I didn't have led lights I would have bought 2 sets.
