So far, all the models of Toyota bB/Scion Xb has been based on the Japanese bB made up to year 2003. Xbs and the new bBs in Japan now has the new bumper shape (front and back).

I've waited until one of the companies to make the proper model And it's finally out.

You can get it from places like Hobby Link Japan
http://www.hlj.com/product/FUJ03610

I'm surprised Fujimi beat Tamiya on this one...

Anyways, only down side is that it doesn't have the Scion Xb emblem... It only has the bB... Oh, and the driver's side probably is on the right side.

But, this will be more true to the likeness of North American Scion Xbs.

If enough people are interested, I can ask Hoby Link for a group buy... whaddaya say?

Both Tamiya and Fujimi have bB models. I have a Fujimi model partially done. I haven't had time to finish it.

Look at my post again. Tamiya doesn't have the bB model that has the exact same body style as the US Xb. the above Fujimi's model is called version 1.5ZX...

If I am wrong, please enlighten me.

No you are right I have both of those models Each kit has things I like, with Tamiya's being a little more detailed.

i have the fujimi bB mounted on an extended radioshack xmod (really made by HPI btw). i had to make a new driveshaft and lengthen the chassis among other things but it came out awesome. but yeah i agree the fujimi bB is a really well done kit.

I am in for 2 too. What paint color though? If it has to be specified I will take Hot Lava and Blue Onyx Pearl.

i used testor model master 'arctic blue metallic' over black primer to simulate blue onyx pearl. sorry for the crappy quality, a 2 megapixel camera doesnt mean crap when its a fixed lense :tap:

i want that hpi livery touring impreza SOOOOOO bad :'(

i think they are on hpi japans website, but i know for a fact that they are displayed at hobby shows at hpi's table. . they just chose radioshack as a distributor. also theres a sticker on the bottom that says "custom manufactured for radioshack corporation" on the bottom. theres NO WAY that radioshack could come up with a fully digitally proportional 1/28 scale car with the option for shaft driven 4wd, limited slip ball bearing differentials, 12 crystal frequencies, 4 wheel independant suspension and a whole crap load more for only $50 haha

Where can I get that engine chassis part from?? That sounds like a cool thing to do. I love that xB custom XMODS. I already have a Z, a Ghetto A$$ Skyline which had the side neon on both sides but now it is only on 1 side because as I was trying to remove the neon battery cover from on top of the wire it snapped apart. F' er. Anyone know how I can fix it? Oh and I have a RSX that doesn't even run. Well it does but rear tires don't and that is because of a another wire coming apart. Did you find a way to put in lights? I know this is a lot BUT WHERE IS THAT SITE???

eXciteBox

engine chassis part? if you mean the extended chassis i took a piece of thick plastic (a plastic painters pallette) cut it to shape, drilled it and epoxied it to the existing chassis. then i took a long piece of plastic and fab'ed up a new longer driveshaft and found a way to remount the batteries and whatnot.

if your talking about the xmods light kits if you break a wire from the connector you might as well buy a new one. if its snapped well above it you can just solder it back togther. as for the 'rear wheels' if its a wire just sodler it back together and you should be golden.

the bB is drilled out for headlights, tail lights, side markers, front turn signals, and licence plate lights. a pin vice is more valuable than gold when it comes to modelling! haha. i will be using a spliced xmod command logic light set.

Thank you for writing. This item comes in a case quantity of 36. If
purchasing a case quantity of 36, we can offer a discount of 15 percent
off the cost of merchandise. We can ship to the U.S. by the postal
service's SAL and EMS classes; the size and weight of a case quantity
far
exceeds the limits for SAL Small Packet class, so would need to be sent
by EMS. If you would like to order a case quantity, please let me know
and one of our wholesale representatives will assist you. If you'd
prefer
to order a smaller quantity instead, we unfortunately won't be able to
offer a discount, but you're certainly welcome to place a smaller order
yourself using our web site at http://www.hlj.com.

So... If we can get 36 purchases, we get 15% off... But, the shipping might be too costly... And it has to be shipped again once it gets here... Whaddaya think?

So far comparing the Fujimi and the Tamya side by side the Tamya seems to look better and sit better. I will post pics as I work on each.

I just took a look @ HPI Racing JP and the have the MB SLR McLaren. I want that one. I think that if we write to xmods and tell them to make a Scion xB and tC it will happen if we get enough people to write. Anyone else down?

Model car building is my #1 hobby. I have both the Tamiya and Fujimi bB kits. They are virtually identical and not USDM Scion xB's. They both have their pros and cons. I got the Fujimi kit for the factory rear spoiler. I plan to cast the spoiler in resin so I can have one for my Tamiya kit.

Both kits are RHD and feature a front bench seat with a column shift automatic. Both are what us in the hobby refer to as "curbside" with no engine or underhood detail.

I want to build one as a quasi-replica of my BOP xB. Tamiya makes some killer spray paints that are synthetic lacquer. Their Dark Metallic Blue will be a close enough match for BOP. Tamiya Black Metallic is a close match for BSP. If you use any of the Tamiya metallics, pearls or micas you must use Tamiya gloss clear to get the deep shine.

Email or PM if you need any model questions answered!!!

I'm big into model building, too. I don't know if you're familiar with Scale Auto magazine (www.scaleautomag.com), but it's a great resource for model building skills.
