Which direction is the best way to point your subs? monkix626 03-28-2005, 06:03 AM i've read a article form some web site sayin that its best to have the subs pointing to the rear of the trunk and near the rear of the trunk... it'll give u the most bass-.- garfull 03-28-2005, 03:33 PM in my old hatchback ive always pointed them to the back. i have a bazooka now and point it to the side. doesnt make too much of a distance as long as the sub has air in front of it to displace. Notacop 03-28-2005, 03:56 PM actually in a hatchback the best way is to fire them against the glass, 2-6" max and it will help amplify the sound as well as reflect it towards the front of the car. This is why the honda CRX's are always good performers, small airspace and a hatch to work with. If you go to the forums on www.termpro.com and search for "crx box" you will find plans for a box that may fit in the back of the TC that will give awesome output. SCI_TC_GUY 03-28-2005, 04:28 PM either way will work well.......just don't ever fire your subs forward........i hate it when ppl do that......unless it's specifically designed that way........but for an average joe, fire backward...or to the glass.... mandos 03-28-2005, 08:09 PM I had mine both up and back. Back is definitely louder with the box I've got right now. crab_nasty 03-28-2005, 08:13 PM My friend just got his tc back from the shop and it is so loud. He has 2 10" subs facing the glass and let me tell you it is louder than my 2 12"s in my box. And the enclosure in his tc is not sectioned there is only one port. They are so loud. SCI_TC_GUY 03-28-2005, 09:30 PM my JL H.O. wedge is facing the glass and it's pretty loud......i think i should have gotten a bigger amp to push them though..... Mainrodax 03-28-2005, 09:48 PM The reason a sub always sounds louder when facing back is you are giving the sound waves more distance to reach their peak. An average sub's sine wave needs around 20 ft. to reach its peak, so those extra few feet it gains by bouncing off the trunk/hatch really give it more boom. I'm just worried that when i get my Brahmas it will be the glass that goes boom. |
