new to the forums and as of lately i have been doing some shopping around for a exhaust for my 2k5 xA. im looking into the blitz one but does anybody have any suggestions or words of wisdom before i buy it?

I would suggest 5zigen exhaust, i got a buddy of mine selling locally if you want to pick 1 up, look @ the sponsored sales for 5zigen blowout sale.

 

Look in the power hungry section. There are plenty of threads asking the same question.

Personally, I would go for a custom catback for performance gains.

 

...OR you could wait for the magnaflow cat-back to come out. dont know when its gonna be released, but i already started savin up. It's priced at about $600
i know - thats crazy expensive, but i think its worth the wait/money. Stainless steel is always worth it

 

imo, the magnaflowcatback isn't worth it. It isn't a bolt on application since you will have to weld it (as with any other catback)

Have a shop make a custom catback for you and it will run around 200 if you bring your own muffler. Same gains for half the price.

 

whoa! it has to get welded on? how do u know that, how come i never hear these things?? that.... sucks

 

It's because there is no flange between the catalytic converter and piping.

Any catback system for our car will require cutting and welding.

Blitz NUR Spec mufflers are great, I had one on my Toyota Starlet GT Turbo in Japan and it sounded great and not like a farting Honda muffler. Looks nice too.


I didn't really pay any attention to my exhaust on the xA when I installed my springs. The whole exhaust is one piece? I was planning on getting the TRD exhaust, is it just the muffler or is it the whole exhaust?

 

The TRD is an axleback exhaust. Meaning it only replaces up to the resonator.

A catback replaces up to the catalytic converter, which is as far as you can go without running into problems with smog laws.
