Default Financing Xb. Will installing aftermarkets void warranty?

I just bought a 2005 Xb. I'm financing it through Toyota, and I wanted to know if installing a few things under the hood Air Filter Charger Kit, strut bar, and a cold air intake will void the warranty?

I've been told you can basically only install new filters, plugs, wires, and a cat back without voiding the warranty.

Any help would be appreciated as I don't want to void the warranty I spent a lot of money for.

Thanks!

MAGNUSON MOSS WARRANTY ACT

US Code - Title 15, Chapter 50, Sections 2301-2312

Legally, a vehicle manufacturer cannot void the warranty on a vehicle due to an aftermarket part unless they can prove that the aftermarket part caused or contributed to the failure in the vehicle (per the Magnuson Moss Warranty Act (15 U.S.C. 2302(C)) . For best results, consider working with performance-oriented dealerships with a proven history of working with customers. If your vehicle manufacturer fails to honor emission/warranty claims, contact EPA at (202) 260-2080 or www.epa.gov. If federal warranty protection is denied, contact the FTC at (202) 326-3128 or www.ftc.gov.

Awesome. Thanks for the tip! That makes me much less worried about installing mods on my Xb. I'm still probably just going to have a place install the CAI, but I'd rather buy it myself than be forced to spend $600 for the TRD part and install at the dealer.

You can always buy the AEM and the TRD exhaust and the Hotchkis strut bar and then lie to the dealer and say that it came with it. I'm not sure if that'd work, but it might. Hehe

Well, just hope you don't have engine trouble, since most dealerships like to say it was your *insert part here* that caused the damage. Numerous stories on the boards that are EXACTLY like this. Good luck.

Beat me to it!

It's great to see a dealer making this known!

my xb is completely modded everywhere except for the engine. i do have borla cat-back, installed by me. the only quirks my dealer had was the color-change. they tried to say i pulled my motor, which i didn't. that's the only thing that i have done that would possibly void my warranty(if i wasn't an ASE MASTER TECH).

When you upgrade just keep all your stock parts so if anything that happens. you can always swap them back to OE
