Got bored at work a few weeks back
So I was bored at work a few weeks back and had some extra parts lying around so I got crafty and made this.
I drilled in a pin switch low behind the right side of the glove box and mounted 5 or 6 LEDs on a sheet of ABS I cut and heated up and bent. Shot it in with 4 self tapping screws and wired it through a relay off of the + Illumination wire at the radio and are activated through a - trigger on a relay. Works great and only took me about 30 minutes to put together and install.

Thanks guys, I had a pic of what it looked like when mounted but I cant find it. It makes a huge difference at night. I really like it. Even though I rarely drive at night and get in my glove box even less it was still fun and kept me entertained for the end of my shift. I have been thinking about doing the LEDs in the cupholders next.

I remember by dad's 1960 Chevy wagon having a glove box light. Wonder why car makers think we don't need them now?
But they do beg the eternal question: does the light go out when you close the glovebox? How would you know?

Was just looking behind my glove-box. I'm guessing you mounted the LED panel between the two metal braces above the box, but where exactly did you mount the pin switch? Seems like it would have to have a bracket to the right of the air filter and anchored to the tubular steel brace that extends from side-to-side under the dash.

Took another look and decided to give it a go with a piece of angle aluminum, a strip of LED's, and a pin switch. I've ordered the strip and switch and while awaiting delivery, I'll take a look at wiring options.
