im a future scion buyer, and im going to be buying my new scion in the coming weeks. at first i set my mind on the tC but now im having second thoughts and might get a xB cause it looks cool, gets better gas mileage, more room and a few thousand cheaper.

ok, my question has nothing to do what with i just said. but my question is: how does the horn sound on the xb? like when u honk, does it make that little cheap whimpy high pitched sound, or does it make the more rich sounding low pitched sound?

oh and also: how many seconds is 0-60mph on the xb?

thanks for taking ur time and reading my amazing questions :)

Never heard that one before, I don't think! But yeah the xB makes that cheap whimpy high pitched sound. I hate it.

LOL...let's just say that if you're making a decision about buying an xB based on 0-60 time or the horn, you better keep looking. :P

0 - 60 is about 9 seconds for the xB. Probably a half a second faster on the 5 speed, and a half a second more for the auto. (probably more)

EDIT: Voted "no" on your thread, because it drives me insane when people use U instead of YOU!

Go test drive one before asking these questions...And try the damn horn yourself. Did you expect it to sound like a big rig or something? Sheesh...

Read 'em and weep...

Zero to 30 mph: 3.5
40 mph: 5.4
50 mph: 7.8
60 mph: 10.6
70 mph: 15.0
80 mph: 20.9
90 mph: 29.0
Street start, 5-60 mph: 11.1
Top-gear acceleration, 30-50 mph: 5.5
50-70 mph: 8.0
Standing 1/4-mile: 18.2 sec @ 75 mph
Top speed (drag limited): 103 mph

I only go by 0-40 times, though. I live in a city, and unless I'm on the interstate, all the speed limits in-town are 40mph or less, therefore a 0-60 time is useless to me. The fastest I'm normally going to go is 40 in the city.

A 40-70mph time would be nice to know, though, for accelerating onto an interstate (our speed limit is 70mph there)...

I would higly suggest you go to the dealer and checking one out for yourself.

Werd! That's what I did. Even if they don't have the color you want, just drive one to see if you like it or not.

Yes, the horn makes a high pitched wimpy sound.

The 0-60 is about 8.9 seconds for the 5 speed and about 10-10.5 seconds for the automatic.

THOSE numbers are for the SLOWMATIC.

Check Edmunds, they have one of the few road tests of a 5 SPEED, they got 8.9 sec 0-60.

I've personally driven 115 mph and sustained it on level ground, not that that is impressive, but it's better than 103!

Ya, it's not a real macho honk but it makes noise. I like that it has a hair trigger, no fumbling to find out where to push. My last car you had to push all over the place to make it work and by the time you found it you weren't ____ed any more or the person you wanted to honk at was gone.

it is nice not having to fumble around, but i think it's a bit too sensitive.....too many times i've gone to rest my hands on it while sitting in traffic and accidentally blown it....made myself look like such an idiot....also happens when turning the wheel with one hand sometimes
