Default Factory Pioneer to aftermarket Pioneer

So I decided to go and buy an aftermarket head unit, I went with the Pioneer AVH-P8400BH so I could use my iphone as the gps rather than the extra $ for a GPS unit. I was wondering if the connections for this unit are the same as the connections for the Pioneer Premium Audio. The premium comes with adapters for the factory harness, I know the Ipod cable is different but will the rest of them work?

Cool

Crutchfield would be your answer....I'm sure they could look it up. I'm thinking the same HU and was wondering too!

Thanks, Crutchfield is actually the first place I looked. They said they needed to research it. I shoudl get my xB back tomorrow (at the dealer getting the rear entertainment system) I should also recieve the HU tomorrow, so I will update this with whatever info I find. I am planning on adding the rear view camera as well, which is why I went with the Premium Audio in the first place. I will again do a review on the whole setup.

So, I received the unit and installed it last night. More details with pics to follow, but the short answer is no, adapters are still required, in fact the ones they use to install the pioneer premium audio have to be completely removed. A inexpensive Toyota install kit is all that is required for the basic connections. The mic and steering wheel controls are anoer story.

More to come this weekend
