View Full Version : Anyone make stiffer motor mounts/motor mount bushings? jackmott 02-12-2004, 07:32 PM I've seen this mod greatly reduce wheel hop in other front wheel drive cars. dinkjs 02-12-2004, 07:39 PM I dont think so....but go check out enery suspensions website...... But my personal opinion I feel heavy duty motor mounts are a waste of time unless your making enough power were wheel hop becomes a problem very frequently....for these cars I feel they arent worth the time.....maybe for the tC though jackmott 02-12-2004, 07:41 PM I dont think so....but go check out enery suspensions website...... But my personal opinion I feel heavy duty motor mounts are a waste of time unless your making enough power were wheel hop becomes a problem very frequently....for these cars I feel they arent worth the time.....maybe for the tC though I thought so too, but I was getting wheel hop all over the place since I got my scion, of courses, its been raining out. But yeah, first gear is so agressive it can spin those lil tires. But its such a cheap mod (usually) and easy to install with nearly no downside except a little noise. TheRedBox 02-12-2004, 08:00 PM yenno you can do it the cheap way and insert polyethelene (plastic cutting board) in the motor mounts. A lot of DSM guys do this. Or you can add a layer or window weld, widow weld.. dont remember what its called, on top of the mounts. That way takes longer, but it helps just as much. dinkjs 02-12-2004, 09:21 PM yenno you can do it the cheap way and insert polyethelene (plastic cutting board) in the motor mounts. Sorry I own a DSM.....and I am a frequent person on my cars website and I have never heard of using plastic cutting board....nor anyone else used it TheRedBox 02-12-2004, 10:05 PM YOU NEVER HEARD OF THAT AND YOU OWN A DSM????? DUDE WHERE HAVE YOU BEEN??? YOU NEVER USED THE VFAQ?!?!?! You are not a DSMer if you dont use the VFAQ. http://vfaq.com/index-main.html under engines, scroll to the bottom. OR heres a direct link http://www.geocities.com/gulfblvd/mountinserts.htm I don't know if I should give you a  , a  , a  , a :? , or a  for being a DSMers that didn't know that. dinkjs 02-12-2004, 11:22 PM just because its on there doesnt mean people do it TheRedBox 02-12-2004, 11:25 PM  There's a whole bunch of stuff on there, from turbo swap guides, to clutch jobs even wiring up your SAFC.... HemanC 02-13-2004, 12:02 AM I've seen Weapon-R has something like this one. Contact Leo for a more accurate info :) abbfanuc 02-13-2004, 12:10 AM I saw a prototype of weapon-r. Scionmag had one at Exposed with a new double tube intake. scionxb04 02-13-2004, 12:44 AM i have the engery suspension engine mounts in my 2k civic si...along with allota of other people i know who drag at sac speedway....either u gotta use the inserts or get real mounts.....the inserts helped with launch hookup immensly.....if u can find the mount inserts for the scion let me know where..... 02-15-2004, 06:40 AM I will check the mounts to see if they are the same as a corolla. Sometimes toyota uses the same design to save money and I think I saw the inserts for a corolla on scion tuner magazine. :D scionxb04 02-16-2004, 07:18 AM let me know what u find.... |
