Default new subs for the xb

It seems I have tried every sub in last 15 years, and always end back up with a pair of 18's, lol. Anyway I started with a pair of skar audio vvx12's off of 1500 watts, then changed to 1 12" in the spare tire hole, and decided didnt like that so I rebuilt box for 2 and went like this for while

After 2 months I decided I never use the back seat anyway, as this car was bought mainly for gas saver/work car and I ended up just doing little stuff to take to couple shows. So I made it to this

put stinger roadkill on roof, I had already done the back door

built me a base to start with and bolted it down good

and went to this now

2 obsidian audio 18's tuned to 29hz, not looking for any competition numbers, just for a solid ground pounder that slams the lows. And it Does

What do you have running in the rest of the system? And I totally agree with picture 5: it's way easier on the neck and shoulders to install dampening material on the ceiling when the car is on it's side!

My mommy told me if you have nothing nice to say.......

I don't get why you would do this...

I obviously don't listen to my mother.

LOL, dont know what happened to that pic, and it was a pain to do the whole car with dampener, I used about 2 1/2 boxes of stinger roadkill in the car so far. I still got to do the front doors. I got a set of focal components waiting to go in the front as soon as my 4 channel gets here. All knuconcepts 0 gauge wiring from front to back, got xs power battery thats going in the front this weekend, and maybe in month or so when I swap sub amps, I may get a dc power alt. Right now it sounds pretty good, clean, low bass, but I been just putting 1500 watts to them to finish breaking them in

Good deal! Go DC! Last time I saw Rob, he told me that they have all the parts to build our alternators in stock. Just have to holler at him! Seriously cool guy!

i sold those 18's and then changed to one Audioque hdc310" off aq 2200d to get some room back like this

It sounded awesome, just didnt last long, so I bought another set of subs like I had in my expedition. So now im running 2 FI BL 18's, audioque 2200d for now on subs, audioque 4channel is here but not installed yet, Kenwood excelon 996 head unit, pioneer components currently but have a new set of Pold mm components and working on fiberglassing a pillars for a set of 4" components also. XS power d3100 battery mounted at amp, all 1/0 gauge knu concepts wiring and rca's. Viper alarm/remote start. Box is tapered t-line wall built to play 26-70 hz. It kills the lows, and sounds good on any kind of music which is what i wanted. Box is doubled 3/4" birch all way around built inside the car, front and back are trippled thick.

wrapped my back panel with suede, and started my console. Added 1/2" foam to stock arm rest and rewrapped it

I havent metered it, my last vehicle I built to meter some. This car I just built for just a loud daily driver. I wanted something that would play the lows good and still get loud. I may meter it after I get my bigger sub amp, but really not worried bout numbers.

I will do a write up for the arm rest tomorrow when I am home for little bit and I will try to send you a message with directions also. It was very easy
