I have just notices paint chips from the top of my hood thats a ____er now I have to go to the dealer and try to convince hime to take care of it.

I went last month because paint was chipping off the edges of the doors he gave me some toughup and said thats all he could do.

Its a Black Sand Pearl color could this be common in that paint is brittle or what?

or should I forget about it and put my kit on and repaint anyway?

stock toyota paint...crappier as the yrs go by. The stock paint on toyota and lexus has been less than impressive as of the last couple yrs compared to the last gen cars...i dunno y...anybody notice this pattern also? hell i got like 5 chips on my hood and i drive mainly local streets.

don't use that thing the dealer gave you it won't help you... it will make it look chipy...
and do not repaint the whole hood... it will never be the same agian...

ask the dealer to use a technique:
they make a round around the chip and they paint the spot with special way...
i have used this way with my xA...

My Toyota 4x4 had the clear coat come of when it was 6 years old. I was ____ed. I tsalked to some people and they said that that year there was a group that got paited with a bad batch of paint. If there is a bad batch I hope that they make a recall of something. If Scion doesn't own up to their mistakes then all thier hype means nothing. This is assuming the paint chip isn't your fault of course. They do have to scrutinize people to make sure they don't always fix other peoples boo-boos.

Thats the paint you get for a 14000 dollar car.... if it was a high class luxary car then the paint better be DAMN good

if you drive anywhere near what i do (120 miles/day), you can expect alot more...our front ends are just "walls" going down the highway picking up anything in our way. you dont have alot of "aero dynamics"going on in the front to even deflect/re-direct objects...

"What you pay for is what you get" wax and put armorall every week or so....

totally feel u on that. Have you seen how crappy is300 paint jobs are? haha ls400 paint is barely a step up...its sad how automakers cut those corners now. They coulda cut a corner somewhere else haha

my hood was chipping too and i have black cherry pearl,,,, i brought it to the dealer and they took care of it for me :)

Can you slap up a pic of how it looks on the xB?... Very interested in this.

I am also very intrigued. Are these rock chips or just the paint flaking off cuase it is crappy. If its the paint quality i will be bullsh**.

I bought some touch up paint from my dealer, but I haven't applied it yet. I'm probably going to buy some Langka (http://www.langka.com/) glob remover...

Living in NY I am very interested in purchasing a bra for my Xb (just the bumper) and not to open another annoying thread overload I will formally announce: MY Xb will be in my hands within the hour!!!!!!!! :D Despite the additional 3 to 6 inches of snow we should be getting tonight and the fact that it'll hit the 50's this weekend. :shock:

lucky for you guys, it's just chipped paint,. what I got is rust. I just bought the car for two months and there is rust already coming out of the roof. It pops up from inside, you can see that there is no damage to the paint but it bubbles up.
