Default Looking for a new BoV --- Suggestions and help please!

Hey everybody! I started with the Bosch recirculating, and that lasted a total of 30 seconds before I moved to my Turbosmart Race-Port BoV... I at first didn't really want any major noise or odd turkey gobbling sounds or anything, so I went with the Race-Port which is meant for high boost. Well, it's great. It's just a little TOO quiet and I would like to move up to something a little louder. I would like everybody's opinions and recommendations on which BoV's they favor and why... THANKS!

Yep. Got to get something super loud so it sounds like your car is sneezing when you shift. Soooo cool.

And the point of that was? And it doesn't go off when I shift - Idiot.

EDIT: And if you knew the sound of my current BoV, you can only hear it from the inside. So yeah, slightly louder would be nice.

turbosmart dual port or kompact dual port. It allows you to decide what percentage is plumbed back, and what percent is vented to atmosphere
. sounds like it would be a win win yor you.
also, is there any way would you send your oem bosch unit to me for shipping?

Because I think blow-off valves sound lame. Cooler to keep it quiet. I hear/see way too many Subarus and Neons sneezing around town.

But you do you. Good luck on your venture.

^^This sounds interesting and probably the best idea. Search on youtube for sounds. I'm sure someone has to have something.

Just a friendly FYI

The reason of using a RCV over a BoV would be to maintain steady AFRs between SHIFTS. SHIFTS. I don't lose boost when I shift, because... well.. I'm an AUTOMATIC. It's a different ballgame. Stop trolling my threads. I have perfect AFRs with my current turbosmart BoV, better than I had with the RCV. I'm not sure what you mean by "de-tuned" set-up, but I'm pretty damn sure I like the way my car is running.

That explains your low hp #s for this kit at the same psi as other descendant customers.

It was a friendly FYI, as I stated....good luck on your venture as someone else pointed out. You've been known to be a "know it all" and have a tough time with criticism, even by the manufactures of your parts, even by their standards.

Helping you out, seems to prove itself impossible, as you always have a rebuttal for someone else's knowledge.

Good luck on the blown motor and Frankenstein kit

I have no problem with asking for help, and I believe this thread is about that. I have no idea why you continue to argue with me about anything and everything, but either way, it was not a friendly "FYI". In regards to my numbers, I believe they are exactly where they should be for 8.5 PSI, if not a little higher. I enjoy what I've done with my kit, and I don't believe any damage has been done to my engine or transmission. Also, the reason I find it very hard to take you seriously, is because I believe you blew.. Uh.. Your transmission in the first few weeks, right? Or something like that. Furthermore, I've been actually HELPING other members with a similar boost creep issue, while descendant has fully been ignoring it. Thanks for the waste of time. Again.

i have a tial recirc. bov you can hear it inside but its still pretty quiet. i think when the wastegate opens up noone wants to ____ with my tc lol. however a bov opens up when you boost no matter how little or high it may be. rjscion has actually helped a lot cause YES descendant hasnt even acknowledged this problem. thats because i did something wrong. rjscion was just trying to help. difference of opinion and your ___ ___ comments wont make a difference in any other persons opinion. i myself actually prefer a loud bov as well. as for all you idiots who have nothing to do but post stuff about how cool your stock xbs are, youre ___. i actually happen to be an enthusiast who loves doing ____ to his car and i like asking for help when i need it. no need to be a troll. rjs just helping out.

Like I said, the Blow off valve that allows you to still recirculate MOST of the air, while venting a little bit for sound seems like the best idea.

Just my .02 cents.

I will be selling the hksIV BOV that is on my kit (unless I find a way to recirculate it) and installing a Bosch recirculating valve before installing my descendant kit (5 speed manual).

My personal favorite will always be the Greddy Type S. I've had it on every Turbo engine build I've completed. Currently on my ST165 3SGTE and only rebuilt it once over 13 year love affair.

I like my tial alphaQ. It sounds like a wave crashing on the beach of the north shore. And it looks like a stainless steel toker II. LSD in the tranny and a bong on the intake, even my car is on drugs.
