Question to all you XM MyFi / SkyFi/ Roady users out there..
Alright all you xm users out there... I plan on going out this Thursday and getting an XM radio setup in my tc since best buy and circuit city are doing free install on these things now... Now my question is out of MyFi, SkyFi, and Roady2 which one would you recommend most of all? And to those who have Sirius radio i dont want opinions on that please lol.
I really think i wanna get the MyFi since its got alotta cool goodies but i wanna know if anyone out there has it already and if its worth the $300 or should i just go with the SkyFi/Roady2 and save myself a bunch of money!
Also to those who do have these setup in your car, where are you mounting it? Please let me know your opinions on this stuff or any pics of where you have these parts mounted would be great too!

I have the MiFi and I love it man. Been using it all the time lately. Everything works well, car reception could be a TINY bit better but it's def worth it IMO. The 4 hour storage thing is great because when you go in a tunnel or lose reception, you can still play something. I definately like it.
and is that with using the fm modulator that you're using it with thats still giving you the good quality is that correct or did u have it setup somehow to be hard wired? im just a little confused if thats how this hasta run being that its portable the way it is sorry
I'm running the SkyFi2. it's aweomse. has built in FM mod. However directly connected with AUX input sounds 100 Xs better. In the TC, I'm using one of those flexible 15" arm that bolt onto your seat bolt. however - running the antenna (the right way) was a pain. I'd make sure the route that thing the stock way (which requires pulling 1/2 the rear bumper and tail light).
I would say go with the SkyFi2. i can't justify the 300 bucks for an XM walkman. Then again i have an ipod so i guess i got the mobile music coverd. I have the Roady 2 right now and would much prefer the SkyFi2 bigger easier to read display plus it has the 5 minute storage. All for around 120-150 opposed to 300 for the MyFi
I have the SKYFi2 that I was using in my cavalier. I don't wanna junk up the dash in my box and couldn't find a location that made me happy, so I went with a direct tuner.
If you have the stock sat ready radio, you can get the XM kit from TRD Sparks in the Sponsored Sales section for a good price. If not, the direct tuner is $50 (w/ antenna) and the adapter for most any aftermarket head unit is another $50.
I chose direct tuner personally for looks and ease of use (controls on head unit... not some other box). One of my complaints about the SKYFi2 with stock radio is controlling the tuner in one place, and the volume in another.
sorry for rambling.

haha, i have the exact same setup, exact! i have a skyfi2, with the aux input and i have the flexi arm too.
i mounted my antenna on the metal strip on the back moonroof, i didn't want it to stick on the outside of my car
how's the coverage of your antenna? I do alot of traveling and don't want to loose any signal
I dont like the black box on the outside either, but xM radio is worth it.
in our xB, we used a cup holder mount and put it in that cup holder on the passenger side of the dash.
The skyfi, unlike the stock radio, gives more info. you got stock ticker, sports ticker, 5 lines of info, alot easier readability, and 5 min pause.
plus we have 4 cradles, one reciever, one monthly price, but I can listen to xm in both cars, at home and in my garage.
