Looks like a nice turn-out and a good time.

One of the last chances for great weather this year.

It was mostly a sinday morning coffee thing That is where I did almost all of the inviting... Sinday morning coffee is where/how our community is growing... You gotta show your face . This was'nt a Scion thing this was a Bunch of friends getting together and going on a drive and eating together . Something that most of us do every week . Communication and sharing the passing of time with those you care about is really important in this short amount of time we are given. SO , take this as an Invitation.. Come around

The main problem with that, Mike, is that some people will NEVER be able to show up on Sunday morning because of prior commitments.*

By only notifying those who are able to show up on Sunday mornings, you are automatically eliminating those who cannot from other events where the CAN show up.

This effectively removes them from the community and tells them "if you aren't in this clique, you do not warrant invitation to anything else."

[mode "whine"]
There is no problem with having private events, just close friends, etc., that is often common and expected when the event is indeed just for a select few, but to then after-the-fact present the event as an allegedly public event likely hurts those not invited, and makes them wonder why they were excluded.

That is something the PNW Scion community has striven not to do since it's inception. The PNW Scion community has always been as inclusive as possible.

Individual clubs, private groups of close friends, etc., have always had private gatherings, but they have been clearly private - obviously and logically so.

It appears that the "Sunday Morning Coffee Club" is now such a group with their other events "members only."

It seems those unable to meet their strict membership requirements need to look elsewhere for the Scion community.
[/mode "whine"]

OK, that's enough grumbling from me. Enjoy the community you have created, and have fun. It really is good that sense of community is being carried on.

* My reason for not qualifying: My mother has attended church for over 80 years, and ever since we took her keys and sold her car I have been her transportation, and that means that Sunday mornings and on into early afternoon is not free time for me.

That should be a Hallmark card right there. Well said Mike.
On a side note if anyone can't make it to the Sunday meets, you could do what I do and stop by Steve's place on a week day and make trouble to his punk@$$!!! But, you may wanna call 1st. Anyways we're all friends here, some closer than others sure, but you/we can definitely change that. Just my $0.02.
