So, I purchase from a private seller a 2006 xB. Nice car, runs great, son loves it..... For $50, I transferred the extended warranty. I never EVER buy those things and here's another example of why I don't. If you purchase a vehicle with an excellent reliability rating, it's totally not worth buying.

So, I get this xB and transfer the warranty. After about 2,000 miles it starts throwing the idiot lights ya'll have a 1000 explanations for "the TRAC and VCS lights coming on.." and my code reader said P-0456 (small leak EVAP..). So, I take it in to get it repaired under warranty and it's the canister a seal and a sending unit switch... AND... of course, the warranty doesn't cover that. LOL

Just sayin'...

Way back when I joined SL there was talk that if you got the extended warranty from the dealer for like 1000 dollars and did not use it you could get that money back. It looks like I have not used it yet and my time is almost up. Was this a fictitious rumor or was it true?

 

Most likely 99.9% no refund if not used. Think about it.....A extended warranty is just like insurance. Which if you don't use, you certaintly don't get a refund. But, would'nt it be great if we all did

nope no refund. i was out of my warranty this summer when i hit the 5 year mark and nada...that's usually the way it goes. you buy one and nothing happens or you dont and something big happens. that's why i'm glad my daily came with 10 year/100k warranty
