Default Megan Racing Header Install w/ PICS!

When you receive your Megan Racing Header, it includes the header, new gasket, and warranty information.

Remove the heat shield and remove all of the bolts from the stock exhaust manifold (there are about 10). I didn't show the bolt locations because they're pretty easy to find.

Comparison between the stock exhaust manifold and the new Megan Racing Header.

You'll see in this picture that we have the two stock nuts on the bolt. By placing the nuts back to back like this, it will allow you to back the bolt out from the stock exhaust manifold. This is how you can reuse the stock bolts without having to purchase new ones.

Also.. On the bottom of the stock exhaust manifold, you see the black/white looking donut object. This is a gasket which you will need to remove from the stock manifold and install on the new Megan Racing Header. I removed mine by taking a paint scraper and gently hammering it in the groove all around the donut. It comes off easily after that.

When installing your Megan Racing Header, we found it easier to unbolt the oil pan dip stick. Without removing it, it is difficult to get the header into its proper position. Just bolt it up after you have the header lined up properly.

And you're done! Before starting the car, wipe off the header with a rag to remove any grease or dirt from the header. The header will turn a gold color after driving for a while due to the immense heat.

Overall, I felt an improvement in power. The sound tone didn't change that much when using our Racing Solution magnaflow bolt on exhaust system. The check engine light (CEL) did come on which seems to be the norm with the header. Many people have done the $6 CEL fix which has solved the problem.

The Megan Racing Header is in stock at Racing Solution and can be found at

Good job! This is a great read for those that haven't done that yet.

I can't stress this enough...

DO NOT FORGET TO REMOVE THE S-PIPE GASKET FROM THE STOCK MANIFOLD AND APPLY TO THE NEW HEADERS!!

Definately! Otherwise you'll get an exhaust leak

We installed the Anti-fouler on our s-pipe and the CEL hasn't come on. We are shipping out our Megan Racing headers with the anti-fouler IN THE BOX at no extra charge to our customers.

Is there any talk about making this to where it can pass smog test? And is it cheaper for local pickup? Will you guys install it if I get it there?

I'm unsure if Megan Racing is having this tested to see if it meets CARB requirements.

We have these available for local pickup. We wont do an install for you, but I may know of someone who might take care of it for you while you're down here. I'll have to see what he'll charge. Send me an email at info@racingsolution.com
