I am getting the TRD Springs (ordering my car in about 2 hours) - is it worth the 525 to get the shocks (i do NOT want to buy them after the fact - i want it all financed)

Do they help enough to be worth it?

if you don't and keep your stock shocks, they will wear out faster than they would with stock springs.

i'd definitely get them with the springs and do it all at once and not worry about it for a while, especially if you can finance the cost. it's just my opinion though.

Not if they wear out prematurely, like they will with a 2in drop.

The TRD springs are most certainly made to work with the TRD shocks...I don't know where you got that from...

And no way should you pay $525 for shocks!! I paid $310 at Sparks!!

Didn't you say "I did not get the shocks" (referring to the TRD's) "because the TRD springs are meant to work with the stock shocks"? Sure, the TRD's will work at lowering your ride on stock shocks but in the long run are not the greatest idea, plus your shocks will not be covered. The TRD shocks will also stiffen up your ride and offer a better performing suspension. They are a better match for the TRD springs....

Oh, I see. When I said the TRD springs were ment to work with the stock shocks, I didnt' mean they were not ment to work with the TRD shocks as well. Sorry about that. What I meant was, I asked the install guy at Toyota Scion if I needed to get the shocks as well, and he said they will work fine with the stock shocks, because they are designed to work with them. And if they cause the stock shocks to wear out prematurely, duringt the normal warantee time, they are covered. They (the stock shocks) would not be covered if I had put on any other springs. Sorry for the misunderstanding.

Except for the "...plus your shocks will not be covered..." I agree with everything else you said.

Yeah, I agree with everything Mr. Meaty said. I figure after the warranty is up and I need new struts I'll get TRDs or something better/different. The stock shocks work very well with the TRD springs, and should last longer than the warranty.
