OK, I have the TRD springs and stock shocks and it actually rides better then stock. I've read that 1.9" drop of the Tien H with stock shocks are bouncy. Would the TRD Shocks help that?

I was planning on getting the Hotchkis set with sways and springs cause I want something a little lower then the TRDs, but I dont' want a bouncy rie and I don't want to pay for the H&Rs. Will the 1.7" drop with stock shocks give me a bouncy ride? Do you think the TRD shocks will help?

lowering the car requires a higher spring rate which would make the ride stiffer, therefore bouncier with even properly matched shocks. stock shocks are made to work with stock springs (within a tolerance range) so if you go stiffer than trds it seems you have to change shocks.

So, does that mean that even adjustable coilovers would have a bouncier ride, since it's stiffer then stock.

everything is a compromise, you can't have anything for free, you have to give something else up. whether you are okay with that is up to you. just remember, small steps. you did that with the trd springs. what is bouncy to you may be perfectly acceptable to someone else. personal preference.

shorter, stiffer spring requires aftermarket shock to handle increased spring rate. compression setting on shock mainly determines 'ride quality'. rebound setting changes 'handling' (oversimplified, this is from what i have read). so what we need is a rebound only adjustable shock to put the springs on. doesn't exist save the top tein coilovers which are more than i need for this car (don't need height adjustability).. HOWEVER, i have read here that koni will be making an adjustable set for our cars (fixed compression, variable rebound). I had tokico adjustables on my old civic, but those are compression/rebound adjustable so if you cranked it to a good 'handling' level the ride got harsh to the point of cds skipping and internal organs begging for mercy after a couple weeks.
