Miles per gallon keeps increasing
I have had my car since last summer, a little over 5000 miles on it now. I have 100% city driving. My first few tanks were around the 22-23mpg. but it has been increasing ever since. I think for 2 reasons, because of the engine breaking in and me getting better with my 5 speed. I think my last tank was a record with 27.95 mpg! The rattles and squeaks get on my nerves and the airconditioner is weak but at least the gas mileage has been a pleasant surprise!
The same route I drive my Scion TC, I drove my Honda Civic EX which is rated around 32 in the city. I got about 30mpg with the Civic compared to 27-28 with my Scion TC.

.Seriously though, I have gotten better gas mileage since my car hit 10k miles. I'm getting 25-28 all highway driving at about 80 mph avg.

i've been getting between 26 and 28 mpg here in michigan.. it's been increasing since it's getting warmer finally and the car doesn't have to raise the cold idle to warm up the engine (which wastes fuel).. price here for 89 i paid the other day $2.53.. so we're as expensive as you out in oxnard..
hey high prices? talk to that oil man in the white house.. gee i wonder why he won't release oil from the strategic oil reserve.. keeps prices high, that's why.. and iraqi oil is still not released onto the market either (which would drive prices down instantly).. these prices will keep going up..

^ agreed, the only way to go is up...sad to think of that, but it's true. If toyota motor company was smart they would offer a hybrid for all toyota vehicles, including the scion line, us "youth" want to save money on gas not just financing the car... lol
