so I've search and cant fine a true answer. what year does the camry e351 trans come in. is it only 06-09 or 02-05 or did they come in both. are they different. or if someone can point me to the right thread that would be great thanks.

Yes sir no mods whatsoever I just drained all of my fluids dropped the old Trans, made sure any unnecessary parts were off of the new one and put it in torqued all of my bolts a must do for this job. Refilled all of my fluids. The only thing I struggled with was the engine cradle/ crossmember tht thing is a pain in the a**!!!!!!! And now at 70 mph I'm at 2700-2800 rpm so smooth! I love it

 

do you still get the same power band

Changing the drive ratios in the transmission does not change the power band of the engine. What changes are the speeds at which you're traveling throughout the engine's powerband range.

 

^^^ I concur, the shift points are pretty much the same and the taller gears are going to allow my turbo to spool up better without running out of gear before I take better potential of the powerband

 

Definitely be sure to stick in an lsd while the trans is out. It helps IMMENSELY if you're making moderate to high power.

You mean to tell me that I can put in a E351 tranny from a Camry? I might do it with the AT since my car is an AT, just because. No not really. That's actually pretty neat. I know the brakes are from a Celica, read that here somewhere. Love all these new information I'm learning.

 

I think 02-05 but look for the ones qith 2.4L 2AZ-FE

I know for sure the 05 will work and you get lower mileage with that one that is what I have in mine it also does about 60 to 100 miles more on a full tank depending on how you drive

 

e351 its also used on , corollas matrix and newer camrys, up to 2011 ,,

 

so the trans should have a E351 stamped on the diff case in 2 places right. is there a vin break for the code. I found an 02 in the junk yard and it had a e350 trans in it

 

I used an 03 camry transmission on mine.

 

E350 and E351 are both stamped as E350 but one has a Black end case (Scion/E350) and the other has Sliver end case (Toyota E351).

so would a corolla xrs one work cause i found one with lower miles on it then ive found in the camry department so if it dose then im going to pick it up before its gone
