My mom was looking at the Element fora while, and then I showed her the xB and she changer her mind instantly after driving it. I converted from an 03 civic coupe to an xA. I like toyota better now.

Although I agree with you guys. . . this is a flame war waiting to happen. Let's just say I'm not a fan of Honda, but let's stay away from bashing.

I am not sure I understand comparing the Element to the xB other than the general shape. The Element costs a fair amount more and carries quite a bit more. It is more of a van/suv where as the xB is just a great little economic people mover that can haul an ok amount of stuff in a pinch. I bought an xB to replace my little Honda del Sol, but am likely going to buy an Element when it comes to replacing my wife's larger wagon with something that will be good for camping.

As far as Honda vs Toyota, let's face it you are comparing the most reliable and best of the affordable car manufacturers. Next to others either one looks pretty darn good.

You took the Element as a trade in??

Maybe you can use it as a comparison for future xB buyers so they will stay away from it

That's pretty much the reason.

LOTS of non-owners (of Scion) tell me my xB "looks like an Element". When I get them side by side they comment that "oh yeah, I guess they are pretty different".

Why compare them? Because in their head, EVERYBODY does. "It's that square one, right?"

Can you tell that I get this comment a lot?

How does one incident equate to Honda owners converting?

How do you know xB owners aren't dumping theirs for an Element?

This thread is useless

What he said.

My last 4 cars were Hondas and I had a Toyota pickup before that. Both top notch brands in my book. Plus my brother is a mechanic and says both Hondas and Toyotas are two of the most reliable car brands out there.

I would imagine they took quite a hit ($$) trading an Element for an xB though...

i totally compared the two before getting my xB....rode...drove...pamphlets and everything.......(not like i remember anything about elements at this point)

i'm not gonna lie---as reTARDed as it may seem---whenever i see an element driving around me i sometimes say "there's my rival car..."

cant speak for anyone else....i dont really care either way...just that both cars seem to come out the same time (key word seem) for me and they're both really similar...except my xb's got more room.............heh

Ah, Zen.

The sound of the waterfall is only loud compaired to the silence of the woods.

(what that has to do with the thread, I dunno. But I am not sure what buying a spiderman toy has to do with it either...)

The Element is a large Honda. The xB is a small Toyota.
The Element has dumb rear doors. The xB does not.
The Element drinks down the gas. The xb does not.
The Element can be hosed out. The xB can not.
The Element is hard to get in and out of. The xB is easy to get in and out of.
The Element is not that easy to trick out. The xB is.
The Element costs many $$. The xB does not..

For my uses an Element would be better suited for my needs, but I just don't like it enough to fork out the cash for one.

I'm getting a Subaru Forester instead. The xB just won't go the places I need it to.
