hey guys i just bought this car 2 weeks ago.. if that.
i have some simple questions.

ive been reading on this site abit and i read that i should have gotten a few different exhaust silencers? more then just the one that was in it when i picked it up..?
if so anybody have pics or info on this so i can show it to my scion dealer.

i was told i can change the radio text to other languages? true? if so how?
is there any other tricks the stock radio can do besides the switch to xA or tC sound modes?

in a few pics of the yellow xB's i saw pretty much all of them have black undercoating.. is that a factory option? or is it standard?
any info on this would be great.

did you guys receive floor mats stock? i was told yes and no from another 2.0 buyers, i didnt get any.

also is there any other things i need to check out or do to this new xB that i might have missed?

for a living im a autotech but i never did my homework on this car, pretty much bought it for my daily driver as my project cars arent fitting the bill as one.

any info at all would be great!

These are the two I have. The one on the left was already installed and I took it out about three days after purchasing the car. The silencer on the right was given to me in case the exhaust was still loud.

About the radio, I don't know about the language thing. I did find out that my stereo was set to tC and not xB. After fixing that it sounder much better.

Black undercoating? Not sure what you mean.

I did get floor mats with the car, I don't know if that was part of the RS 2.0 package or the dealer added them.

 

hey i got 2 silencers also. there was one already on the exhaust but i took that off right away. i ordered the floor mats with mine. i dont know bout the undercoating either. other than that i love my rs2.0

 

any others want to help abit?

Mine came with two silencers,one was already installed when I picked it up.

Floormats are an option,you'll get a better price online or get a discount since you're a tech (I have my parts dept call the local dealership).

Silencers don't do the exhaust justice. Good to the keep the quietest/smaller one in case you've got a road trip coming up.

I didn't like the floormats, and even if I did, $120 is like $70 too much for em IMO. Get the OEM floormats on ebay or something for less than 1/2 price.

 

is there a link page on this site for sites that sells stuff like floor mats and etc for the xB?

There should be an insert about your DC exhaust in your owners manual. It talks
about the silencers. It says the loudest one comes installed and how to switch
to the quieter one. Some people have mentioned getting two silencers plus the one
installed, but I only received one extra.

 

I picked mine up last night. It came with a slilencer uninstalled. I can't tell you if one is installed or not, I haven't looked. The car sounds just fine to me.

I did get SCION floor mats. It is part of the RS2.0 package. If you don't like them, there is always ebay. I am also getting the cargo liner to protect the mat in back & getting the totes too. I carry parts for my work.

Sorry, I haven't checked out the undercoating. Not much call for it here in San Diego.

I got the two silencers with mine (b/f took the installed one out right at the dealership) but I didn't get any floormats! I want freakin floormats dangit! I haven't seen the underneath of my car so I have no idea.

 

Floor mats are not part of the RS2.0 Package. They are a $120 add-on option.

Better yet, please point out on my window sticker where it says the floor mats are a standard feature.

 

How do you change the radio from one model to another. IE: tc to xB

 

You need to hold the SSP button down for a few seconds and then you will see one of the modes pop up...ie...tC, xA, XB..... You will then I believe use the up arrow, down arrow to scroll to the setting you want.

I found that the setting for xA sounded best in my xB.....

I also have to agree with xBum that the floor mats were not part of the R.S 2.0 package. I am sure that if you got them when you bought the box that you were charged $120.00 for them.

I ended up getting my front 4 floor mats for $47.50 through the parts department at the dealership that I got my box from. I plan on getting the Cargo floormat later on but they quoted me $40.00 for that one. I wasn't going to pay the $120.00 they wanted when picking the car up.

A note on the silencers. You get a total of 2 one of which is already in your exhaust (the bigger of the two, which is louder) and a there should of been the other one in the glove box which the pipe diameter is smaller therefore its a little quieter.

I took mine out and am running no silencers in it and I think it sounds great.
